I don’t know about you but I know that I am tired of hearing about the latest body count coming out of
Iraq. This time, I don’t think any Americans were killed, but that’s not the point. 8 men died and 20 others were wounded. I think that most of them were law makers. How can we get our men and women out of a dangerous situation if we can not train the people of
Iraq to take care of them selves? We need to train an army and/or a police force over there. We need to do something more than what we are to stop this blood shed. It’s not fair to us or the innocent men and women in the countries that the fighting takes place.

I too am horrified every day when I hear of more death in Iraq.
I doubt things will ever get better there at least not any time soon.
I want our men & women to come home but if we just up and leave I fear there will be one of the biggest bloodbaths in recent history & the entire region will become destabilized (as if there's ever been any stability there).
I wish that someone, on of our leaders could come up with a plan that showed some promise. Neither Bush's same old thing or the Democrat's "pull out" policy seem to be the right answer. the whole thing makes me sick.
I couldnt agree with you more. My husband is in the navy and I want all of this to stop before he has to go on a nine month deployment next spring!!!

I know, they just need better traning and/or more people so that our men and women can come home.

If we want to train and protect prospective Iraqi policemen and soldiers until they can protect themselves, we need to find a better place to do it, because, truthfully, they're dying faster than we can train them in the Middle East. If we ship recruits to other places in the world, we can create bootcamps like our own- AND al Qaida's- and train a real, self-sufficient force that can truly defend their own nation. And we can do it much faster without worrying that green recruits are going to get blown up the day after they report to training.
