People are freaking crazy. I just saw a news story on CNN.com about a mother who decided a "fun" way of punishing her 14-yr. old daughter would be to put her in home-made shackles for trying to run away and skipping school. AND SHE WONDERS WHY HER DAUGHTER WAS TRYING TO RUN AWAY!!! thats absolutely ridiculous. The mom doesnt even see anything wrong with it- she admitted to doing the same thing to her son! How do people get like that? what even puts it into you head "oh hey- thats a good way to do it- ill chain her- that'll show her"??? im sorry, but to me that's bordering child abuse, which is unacceptable in any way shape or form.
Children are precious, they/we dont always make the right decisions, but thats how we learn. punishment can be necessary, but it should fit the crime. shackles are not the way to go.
That is so horrible that a mother could do that to her own child. Just seeing her child, let alone any child being treated like is completely wrong.
Bordering child abuse? That's leading us back to the Dark Ages. Although shackling someone can be fun (if the "shacklee" agrees), this is just ridiculous.
That's stupid and wreckless. This is one of those times I think the mother deserves her daughter's uzi to her throat, which will undoubtedly one day occur.

That horrible to do such things like that to a child! Did you guys hear about the seven year old girl who got beaten to death? It was on Heraldo a couple of weeks back. The girl was tied up and beaten to death by her stepfather while her mother stood by and did nothing. A week before this happened the teacher at the girl's school noticed a large scar on her back, the teacher then proceeded to call child protection about what they had seen, after sending the girl home that day the girl did not come back to school anymore that week. The teachers then proceeded to go to the the girl's residence themselves. The parents and kids were there but they refused to open the door, the teachers then threatened them with the cops. The next day social services shows up to find the cops there arresting the mother and stepfather for murder. The cause behind the the late arrival of social services was an angry employee who had just been in trouble about another case that had went wrong and a child died-The system Really let this girl down
Wow, the world is becoming a sad place to be. but believe it or not, there are a lot of stories like this. Or just about women who know their husband/boyfriend is raping and abusing their daughters but they dont do anything about it. How sick. How can you let something like that happen, let alone watch it.
That is so stupid and wrong. How could you even see your child in shackles?
