The government have been doing a study. Medicare and Social Security benefits are deminishing sooner than they predicted. S.S. will be completely empty by the year 2040 and Medicare will run out in about 12 years. This will be mainly because of the 78 million baby boomers retiring. If you don't work, please work. If you are working, try to keep working as long as your health allows you to. When you retire, you won't get all or any of the benefits that are due to you.

I'll keep that in mind. I'll be getting a summer job soon
Some people play it smart. They retire from a job after 20 years or so. They get a retirement check from that firm. They also retire through regular age retirement and get a check from the gov't. They then go back to work after retirement and get a check from a full or part-time job. What a way to do it. It's important to work as long as you can to qualify for these benefits.
