I think I'm addicted to Coca-Cola

I'm here in Corporate America, wading through work (I wish, it's been quite slow of late) unable to get rid of my unquenchable desire for Coca-Cola. I know this is a company that takes water from 3rd world countries to produce its goods - that should be enough to stop me. I know it's a corporation (and I generally prefer the local goods deal), but it doesn't stop me. What is this insane hold that Coca-Cola has over me?! (It's the same with nacho cheese doritos - can't stop once I start!)

I got to work early today (yes I work for Corporate America - odd paradox of my life, it helped me get out of an abusive relationship and pays better than any other job I've ever had, it just happens to go against what I'm for...) and sat in the parking lot talking to my mom on my cell phone. She, my stepfather, his brother and sister in law just got back from a cruise, on which they weren't feeling well. Apparently they had the same thing that I did this past weekend - sneezing, runny nose, itchy throat now followed by lots of kleenex... I'm always amazed at how germs travel and make their rounds. And it's almost comical to watch it happen in this Corporate environment.

In any case, chorus is tonight - looking forward to seeing my friends, singing my heart out, and then getting home to my wonderful family.

I really want salt, why did I only pack sugary things this morning? More on why sugar's the devil later...

I was guilty too, rest assure that now, I am able to resist the temptation. My secret? Instead of thinking about the global ties of Coca cola and trying to stop yourself because of something that's happening due to a corporate that holds way more employees globally than how many $1 bills I have, I think it makes more sense to ask yourself whether you really need it.

Think about the effects it will have on yourself if you drink a bunch of soda.

I think I may need a support group! Thank you for your comment - it certainly is more helpful than me just beating myself up!

I don't know why either . . . I mean, it's not like it tastes great unless it's cold. Perhaps a support group would be a good idea.
