Did you know that 67,000 women die from illegal abortions each year? Also, did you know that Switzerland has the lowest abortion rate in the world, and yet abortion is completely legal over there.... Why? I'll go into that later.
Less than a week ago a group came on Campus that was an Anti-Abortion awareness group and they had huge posters that had images of dead Holocust victoms hanging next to pictures of aborted babies... claiming it's the "Same thing". Flat Fact- I was ticked. I later went on to their website (Abortionno.com) And was disturbed to find videos of abortion playing on their front page. This group does not believe in Birth Control and they also believe that IVF is wrong (In Vitro Fertilization).
Okay, now the fun topic- Switzerland. Their abortion rates are 7 out of every 1000 women and in America "Each year, about two out of every 100 women aged 15–44 have an abortion; (meaning 20 out of 1000) 47% of them have had at least one previous abortion. (http://www.guttmacher.org) What's the difference you may ask? In Switzerland they are very open about the use of contraceptives. Heck, they supply it for free for the most part. Not to mention they are very open when it comes to Sex Ed. People are going to be having sex, rather you try to stop it or not, so dang it... if you don't want them to have abortions, provide contraceptives.
Anyways, point of my rant.... I am Pro Choice I guess you could say. I am a firm believer in Abortion staying legal. Reason being, if 67,000 women die yearly from illegal abortions... making it completely illegal will cause that number to rise at alarming rates. If these anti- abortion clinics spend half as much money on contraceptives as they did on thier little protests they might actually make a difference. Just my thought for the day.

It is interesting that you claim so many women are dying because of illegal abortions... last time I checked, abortion in the US is legal. So... where are all those women dying for/from?
I am pro-life, very much against abortion, but am also for contraceptives. I don't necessarily agree with the group that came to your campus claiming to be pro-life, yet also not believing in birth control. I do make a distinction between birth control and abortion. If people want to have babies, dont use birth control. If you dont want kids, then you had better use birth control, because having an abortion is (to me) just saying that you dont like/want to use birth control, and you dont care about the reprocussions of your actions.

I could've ranted about you picking such a common topic to blog about, but you actually put an interesting amount of info here.
I do however wonder where your facts come from. In the first paragraph, you mention that Switzerland has the lowest abortion rate in the world. Then you go on to say that almost 50% of women over there have abortions, and many of them have have them more than once! I'm starting to doubt your facts a littler here.
If you take a moment to reread that paragraph What I said was that abortion rates in switzerland are 7 per 1000 women compared to america which are 2 to every 100 women... and almost 50% of those women had had more than one abortion. Not that 50% of all women there have had abortions.

I agree if men had to have he child they would be much more careful. Many men would not sleep around from girl to girl and cheat if they had to o such a thing. I think many men would not be able to hand the family pressure and the overall pain of giving birth. That is why it is a womans job because a man just cannot handle it.

Lie! Where did you get this number? It is not from the CDC because they don't have an accurate tally of abortion deaths. In fact, the ones they do consider "illegal" are in fact not illegal. What happens is a a woman goes into a legal clinic, signs the papers, gets the abortion and ends up dead because the abortionist wasn't a licensed physician. Either he/she has lost their license or they never had it in the first place and therefore the CDC counts the death as an "illegal" abortion. Next, most abortion deaths are not reported to the CDC, the abortionist is not going to tell on himself because most of the time they are doing a lot of shady things and a death would bring an investigation. Lastly, it is hard to find abortion deaths because they are not listed as death from abortion but from sepsis or some other factor and therefore finding one death listed as death from abortion is almost impossible. You are no different then Bernard Nathanson who got this abortion thing under way and admitted to inflating the numbers! Even when abortion was illegal in this country, 67,000 weren't dying from abortion! I have been researching abortion for five years and there is nothing you can tell me about that I haven't checked out on my own 100 times over!

Another lie! Do you even recognize the truth! The truth is people aren't animals and know how to have self control. If you are a whoremonger then that is on you, don't put that mentality on the rest of us. Next, we have had sex ed in schools for the past thirty years and the rate of pregnancy didn't go down but up! Giving out condoms to a bunch of teenagers only spurs therm on. The pregnancy rate went down when abstinence education was started in the schools despite the lies that the liberal media feeds us. Of course liberals will tell you that abstinence doesn't work. I am 38 years old and I went back to church five years ago-I am Mormon-and our church preaches chastity outside of marriage. I went from being a tramp to being chaste for nearly two years now, so if I can do it at 38, the youth will have a much easier time of it because they don't have to undo years of bad and reckless sexual behavior like I did.
It is not about stopping sexual behavior-which is the biggest lie of all. It is about respecting sex. You don't respect sex, I can see it from this paragraph. I respect sex, I adore it, I honor it, I value it, it is sacred and holy! It is not to be taken lightly like you do! It is the glue of human existence. It is a shame people like you make it dirty and vile. It is a shame people like you see as just as something to do when you are bored. I am waiting because the next time I have sex with someone it is going to matter. It is mean something. It is going to represent the union of souls and it is going to be done the way God intended, in the union of marriage. Before I close I just want to say contraceptives are very dangerous. I know because when I I was pregnant with my son I was looking for a safe method of birth control, so I wouldn't find myself in this position again and I could FIND NONE!!! I had cancer in the past, so I couldn't use the pill, I remember the days when IUDs were killing women left and right and I wasn't about to use that. I can't use a tampon so how in the world was I going to use a diaphragm and I don't like the idea of sticking plastic in my sacred of places! All that was left was condom and cream. Great! How many condom babies do we have running around, yeah they are just so effective! So I began to research birth control and was horrified! Birth control pills cause heart attacks, cancer, strokes, blood clots, not to mention they can cause very early abortions. It is also ineffective if you are taking antibiotics. So Lord help you if you get a cold, need antibiotics and are taking birth control! I also found out that the AIDS virus is the 100 times smaller than a sperm and that all the virus needs to do is find the tiniest of holes (which are inherent in the latex that is used to make condoms) and you have AIDS. Great so condoms really can't protect you from AIDS at all! It also can't prevent you from getting HPV which can cause cervical cancer! But it is a certain type of HPV and there are many strains. In fact, the vaccine they are trying to push on teenage girls doesn't even protect you from most of the HPV strains just a few! In fact here are some quote from doctors on the dangerousness of using condoms: # You just can’t tell people it’s all right to do whatever you want as long as you wear a condom. It (AIDS) is just too dangerous a disease to say that."

Therefore the only safe answer is abstinence. You can't get pregnant or diseases if you are not having sex.

P.S. The vast majority of people in the pro-life movement are women not men, poor choice men are irresponsible cowards who want to have sex with a woman and walk away from her! Abortion is for the man not the woman!
And ability to think critically and delay gratification is greatly increased. This means that abstinence is MUCH easier for a woman of 38 than it is for a teenager with raging hormones whose brain has not fully developed. Plus, you have the benefit of knowing exactly what you're missing, which makes sex much less tempting.
