I never knew Foster parenst are given $7000 - 40,000 to take one child into foster care. People argue that the higher the price, the better quality of life the child is destines to have. Others oppose and say that the lower the price the more carying the foster parent will be.
It's horrific that basically children are sold to foster homes. A lot of foster parents just become foster parents for the easy money. There is no question that the money is relatively easy to get, just take a kid into foster care. People go around complaining about the issue of abuse in foster care. I think that if the price wouldn't be so high, children would be better treated in foster care.
Foster parents are supposed to be pople who want to take care of children. It turns out that people become foster parents just for the money, and not for the well being of foster children.
I agree but you will always have people trying to cheat the system to get " free money" out of the government. Most of these people don't give not one inch of a sh... about the children who's lives will be impacted or the mental abuse the children will suffer due to their carelessness and cavalierity. I think it's sickening but this is what is hast boiled down to. There is always someone eho refuses to work hard for the things they have and they always seems to find some loop hole in the system. Corruption I say!! I think the government needs to complete a careful and close investigation of the people who run foster homes in order to ensure that our most precious gifts, the children, the leaders of tomorrow are well taken care of. Especially with the high statistics of abused children growing up to become rapists, killers, convicts,or abusers themselves. Children were not born by their own will or with price tags strapped on their baby toes. Children should NEVER BE FOR SALE!!!
But on the other side - the cost of raising children is not cheap. Many foster parents do need the supplemental income to help provide a good life for the child. I know a couple of foster parents and they are not in it for the money at all. The children they have in their home need so much attention due to severe emotional problems. The sad thing is that many people do not want to take on an extra burden, expspecially with children who need so much more than just a roof over their heads.
I know there are some out there who are just after the check, but not all foster parents are in it for the money only, it is just a big help to them.
I just heard of pregnant women selling their child over the internet.
It was even a case of a woman that scammed like 5 families by selling them all the same fetus, then after she recieved payment she cut off her phone and moved.

They made a Lifetime movie about that. Apparently there are quite a few black market baby scams.
