This is the first in a series that I will be writing called America the Ignorant.
Teenagers in America are confused and may be the deciding factor in the next election. The Democratic Party may loose votes after the primary because people either feel there shouldn’t be a woman or African American president. I hear a lot of people saying that they are voting for Barack Obama but would rather move to Canada if Hillary Clinton becomes president. They are willing to vote Democrat but they refuse to have a woman in office who shares very similar views to Obama. Those people could prove to help the Republican Party to send John McCain right into the White House in the express lane.
I am personally a Democrat and it irks me to believe that people could be so ignorant to vote against a party they represent just because of gender. The only positive side of this is proving that America seems less racist towards African Americans. It seems the sexist movement is at our front door, however. As a man I can take a stand and say I voted for Clinton and I have no problem supporting my candidate. It still bothers me when everyone says that only women are voting for her or people tell me I must be a woman to vote for her. The only benefit of this controversy is that teenagers are following politics more than they have in previous years.

I agree with your points on the ignorance of not just teenagers but adults as well.
This is one of the major reasons why i'm most likely not going ot vote.
See, "Why I Will Not Vote."
I figure my vote will be outweighed by the number of ignorant votes.
I'm not trying to be elitist either, if you ask a person why they want to vote for someone you end up getting vague answers. It's just a fact

i agree but what also bothers me is when teenagers will say all republicans suck just because they hear their parents say that bush sucks. there has been good republican presidents and there has been good democrat presidents. i just really hate when a teenage will automatically bash on a party even though they know nothing about them. so they resort down to repeating what their parents say instead of reading into it

Okay. Now give me an example of ONE good Republican who IS helped Americans in terms of foreign policy as well as domestic wellbeing. Yes, it is stupid that they only HAS say what their parents IS saying. But their parents IS right.

I think thats horrible. I'm not voting for Hillary because I'm worrried about her ideals, and barak, honestly I feel that he could be the next assasinated president. Does anyone else feel this way? Maybe we have moved far enough since MLK that we don't need to worry about it, but I think there is still just slightly to much hate in america to have a black president, just for his benefit. I like the man, though I've heard to many people abosolutly fawn over him, kinda sounds like a con artist. I did hear one person say they have him picked for the anti-christ. I'm just worried about the guy, as the comedian Dave Chapelle once said "you dont want to be the first black person to do anything."
Now some of the greatest african americans got that way by doing exactly that, but I fear for the first president to break the mold because idealy he would be the most fit person to guide our country.
