Hey Guys,
This is Lori here. I have came up with a new theory well more of an idea. I am currently a student majoring in Criminal Justice. Recently, it has been brought up to me to come up with a new idea to prevent crime in a neighborhood. My idea was sort of "out there" I will admit, but hey it could work! I would put cameras that rotated 180 degrees facing outside of the streets that needed security and this way it will record traffic coming into the neighborhood. So if anything would go on at least you would be able to track what is coming in and you will still have your privacy. Personally, I think it is a great idea. What do you think?

I dont think that would really violate privacy as a lot of stoplights have cameras on them to catch speeders and get their tag numbers. But it would be expensive, thats really the catch.

That is a very good point in which you have made about the money part. However, if it was granted money the possitives that would come out of it would be rewarded!

It would help track people if the only way into the neighborhood was via the street... a lot of neighborhoods, however, have all sorts of back ways into them (drainage diteches, wooded areas, homes back-up against other homes, etc). In some of those instances it would be a violation of privacy to put the cameras up (i.e. in the backyards of homes, etc).
Hi Fallon, I like that you have a very broad mind. Even though there may be rear entrances into neighborhoods like you have mentioned. For the majority of it.....drive bys, pumpkins smashers, arson lovers, etc.... there are so many different types of crimes that could be prevented. I am not saying that this is the answer to all of our problems, but a hug part of it. Crime is a very fishy thing now a days, it will always be a war against civialization. A little bit of help is a little bit of hope!
