A Peek Into the Life of An Inmate...

This story was covered by Komo News 4 (www.komotv.com )

Early in the morning, an off-the-wall dental procedure was performed horribly wrong. As Dr. Joel Diven attempted to pull and inmates tooth, one can only wonder how 17 years of practice in all types of dental procedures and surgeries could mishappen quite like this. Was there a vengance?
After pulling the tooth of the victim, the doctor was nowhere in sight... A nurse happened to stumble upon the bleeding and nearly unconscious patient, immediately calling an ambulance. The patient was then shipped out to a local hospital in Olympia by an ambulance.  The damage done to the patients mouth at the time of the incident, was described to the police officials by the nurse, as "a quarter sized piece of his jaw was missing leaving massive amounts of muscle tissue, nerves, and upper nasal sinus tissue exposed".
Furthermore, the incident went unreported until 5 weeks later.
The doctor refused inquiries of an interview from several news stations, and ended up losing his Medical/Dental lisence, although only temporarily right now, there is a hearing scheduled to make it permanent. Dr. Diven is still currently emplyed at the Corrections Department, solely observing and preparing patients, there will not be any chance of him to perform a procedure. (thankfully!)

What do you guys think? Crazy!

this is crazy, even if someone made a poor choice it doesn't mean they don't deserve a chance to correct that choice. what made this doctor consider this job any less important than pulling the tooth of a regular patient. He shouldn't be allowed to perform procedures, in fact he should become an inmate himself

Yeah... that is really crazy, and quite disturbing. I don't think he should even be observing or preparing patients either. That's awful.

How terrible. And it's even worse that the doctor in question is still working at the facility. He shouldn't even be observing or preparing patients after such a horrible stunt! Inmates, contrary to popular belief, are human too and deserve better than this.

THat's just ridiculous. In my opinion dentists are already kinda weird, but ripping chunks out of patients and the leaving them? I wouldn't still work at the prison personally, a friend of the guy might decide to get some well deserved revenge. There had to be some kind of pre meditation or sadism here. I bet it comes out that this isn't the first time this has happened.
