Working Hard but Always Falling Behind

I came home the other day from my second job crying....No I didn't get fired, it was my co-worker Maria and her family that brought me to tears. You see Maria and her family are illegal residents residing here in our beautiful state of Southern Cali trying really hard to make a living. Now I know that its wrong for them to be living here but there not the typical illegals who come here and try and fool our goverment system abusing food stamps and stuff like that, not at all! Maria has two jobs, her husband Javier has two jobs, Javier's mother has three, and with all that they still seem to be barely scrapping by...It hurts me because here we are with all these amazing benefits of medical and dental and all the other things we take for granted, and here they are trying to just stay in the country to better the lives of their three daughters. Maria and her family are trying to learn english, so their not those type of hispanics that refuse to learn and actually communicate with the rest of American population. They understand that learning english is a necessity in order for them to be able to work, not that its easy for them to find a job or anything I mean without papers it is pretty darn hard I assume. Anyway I just think it sucks because they HELP THE COMMUNITY, they work, THEIR ACTUALLY TRYING, and their GOOD PEOPLE....I mean I was listening to the news about an African American boy getting shot by an illegal man...that pissed me off I mean it only takes a few of those kind of people to make others believe that having illegals in the country are bad... I mean think about it does any American really want to do what they do for us? They clean our houses, they work in the back of restaurants, the work in the fields, they make our gardens nice, and sooooooo many other things that the typical American would never do...why? Simple we as Americans LOVE everything quick! We want something that reaps big benefits with least amount of work, and doing all that yard work for maybe even less than minimum wage?Yeah I don't think a typical American would do it, at least not in our era, back then maybe yeah it was the "American way" but not anymore...no sir not anymore.I want those illegal immigrants working hard and trying to live that "American Dream"(that we as typical Americans have lost sight of mind you) to NEVER GIVE UP! You work hard for your money...LITERALLY and just because there are a few of those that taint your hard living and hard earnings dont give up, even if the law isnt always on your side DONT GIVE UP!One of these days the governement will come to their senses and do their job and get those that make living here so hard for you a bit easier. If your here in the country just to better your life then I BACK YOU UP! America is about freedom and even though its hard for you to earn it, you will and once you do be proud and say it Soy Americano!

I'm sorry they have it hard, but to be honest, many people have it hard. And it's very unfair of you to say that they take jobs that normal Americans would never do when in fact the problem is they take jobs for much lower pay than Americans can afford to take with taxation, expenses, etc. If illegal immigrants did not take these jobs for such low pay, the pay for these jobs would be higher, and maybe Americans would actually take the jobs to pay their bills. On top of that, they take benefits (or get benefits for their children--even illegal immigrant children) that they don't pay for. This includes education, basic healthcare, welfare benefits, etc. (My mother worked for the Department of Human Services, so I have at least a basic understanding of the system and the benefits that illegal immigrants get--and they get a lot.) They bring in an income, but can draw on benefits for their children. Compare this to a poor American family that brings in a minimum wage income and relies somewhat on welfare. Their total income would be less because their welfare benefits are lower and they don't draw from an unreported source of income. On top of that, there are a lot of people who spend a lot of time and hard work to get into the country (my parents for example) and sacrifice and had very little in their home countries. It's not just that it's unfair for them to be here, but also the fact that sometimes people have a sense of entitlement about it all. The world was here first. It owes you nothing. America does not owe these people anything. You aren't entitled to a job or a wage or education or healthcare if you're not a legal resident. Hell, you aren't even entitled to the first two even if you are a legal resident. There are so many people that have a hard life, and not just in Mexico. America owes them nothing. Why do they deserve access to resources of a country they don't accept (it's not acceptance if they don't accept the laws and rules of that society)? Why are they more deserving than the people of Africa? Truthfully, they aren't. Sob stories are sad. There's tons of poverty in America though. Go find those sob stories.

I know these people you know are tryign hard, but they're not citizens. I'll tell what they're trying hard at. Ruining this country. If you really care about being here, fight for us or become a citizen. Illegal immigrants are helping to fuel the "underground economy" and we wonder why debt is so rampant in our nation. Granted that we have much more otehr problems--like financing for the war--than illegal immigration. But this just adds to the fire. Why not live in your own country and make money? Someone will tell me that they're country is trash. Well honestly folks, most of latin america is fine and livable. Lets be serious. AMERICA IS NOT PAVED WITH GOLD. IT's PAVED WITH DEFAULTED LOANS.

What are you saying? If a person isn't illegal, that means they're legal... Which means, they've already been a citizen?

People coming here that are illegal try to become legal or applying for residency but they cant because they need someone to either help them by hiring them or adopting them and both require alot of money which they dont have at the moment since no one will hire them because of the new laws, and if they do they have to be careful, my dads friends comany had to let go more than half of their employees due to the new laws and it hurts not just them but my dads friend because they litterally dont have anywhere else to go.
