A man in Malaysia cuts off his own penis and gives it too his wife to show her he's faithful to her. Apparently his wife found a text message on his phone from another woman, so to prove that it was nothing and that he wasn't cheating he just cut it off and handed it to her. He is recovering from surgery where they were able reattach his penis. My question is this, "Should this man be able to breed?" What was this guy thinking? Ladies would you would accept this as proof that your man wasn't cheating?

This guy is really stupid and probably has something wrong with him.
In Malasia things that may seem bogus to us, are very honorable to them. He's not stupid, just dedicated. Honor is held above everything else.
I think you're not far away from the truth but this seems a bit too extreme. You can express your loyalty to a woman in so many ways. Build a Taj Mahal for example :P but don't cut your weenie !

First, remove that goddamn apostrophe from the word "cuts." Second, I think what he did is admirable. That shows he's committed enough to his wife to do something stupid. I mean, most married Americans nowadays won't even sacrifice their insignificant wants and needs for the sake of love! Hence the many divorces.

Action speaks louder than words. Cutting his penis must really hurt, but he was still willing to do it anyway. He didn't mind losing a part of himself to show how much he cared about his wife. THAT'S admirable. It's a pity boys nowadays do not have his guts. Oh, no. Boys nowadays are willing to do anything--ANYTHING--to show how much they care about a girl, but only as long as, you know, what they do don't hurt them in any way.

He could have died, he is at least likely to have problems with sex in the future, do you think that's what his wife wanted? Would you cut of your penis for a girl? Also your assuming that he actually didn't have an affair, just because he was crazy enough to cut off his penis dosen't mean he was actually being faithful, it just means that he desperate enough to do something so drastic to keep her in the relationship.
That's so sad. How much could be wrong with a relationship that you would go to that end to prove something? I certainly hope his wife appriciated the gesture. Geeze.
I don't know how anyone can intentionally do that to themselves. That is so disgusting. And even if he did cut it off, that doesn't show that he's faithful. He can still kiss another woman, among doing other things with other women.
A sane man in a normal relationship, normal meaning he loves her and she loves him, without any suspicion of cheating, wouldn't do that to himself. To prove that he wasn't cheating, he did that. To do something of that sort takes tremendous love for a woman, and a tremendous amount of courage, seeing how they wouldn't have done that in a relationship where there were problems (as said earlier, he would probably divorce).
But as said earlier, in this society we live in, where material is valued over substance, substance being knowledge or innovation, I feel that no sane person would do something like that. If there is a lack of trust, they make up with it somehow, or simply divorce and live with the woman they are having an affair with.
I can't say whether or not he was having an affair, but the fact that he did such a thing shows he loves her and wanted to prove that he wasn't cheating.
I WOULD never take a knife to my penis, for ANY reason. If you don't trust me enough to believe my word, we don't need to be together. Argh, just the thought is making my stomach churn.

I think some people are missing the symbolism. He's not only articulating that he loves his wife, but that love is more important to him than sex. He was expressing that his penis is just a piece of flesh, and next to a real relationship it is meaningless.
Not that sex can't improve a relationship, of course, but it isn't the basis for one.
That said, his method for expressing that was over the top and unnecessary. If his wife trusted him so little that he had to go to that length to make his point, then the relationship probably shouldn't have been that valuable to him. I doubt that was the case, either, though. It seems that he was just caught up in the moment and took action before thinking. His attitude is in the right place, just not his mind.
If he cut it off and showed it to her and there was still time to get to the hospital, though, then he must not have done it in private, and so she should obviously have stopped him.
Hm... I'm not sure why I put thought into this issue - it's fairly unimportant and not exceptionally interesting. It just caught my eye, as is perhaps understandable.

A commendable action indeed, and one that ought to be reciprocated by his wife, possibly by way of a self-administered mammectomy or other significant amputation. That is, if she really loves him.

And, if his wife was there, and I'm not saying she was, why didn't his wife stop him? Did she not ever wanna have sex w/ him again?
