Why The Hate??

Tagged:  •

The question “Why do people hate Muslims?” has been ask too many times. A lot of people say it’s because Muslims are terrorists. No their not, at least not ALL Muslims. The media focuses on Muslims terrorists to give a face to the “fear” and allow the general public to have a sense of security because they think they know who the “bad guy” is. Just because some terrorists are Muslims, doesn’t make the whole religion terrorists, or that nationality (Middle Eastern). Not every person from the Middle East is in the taliban or other form of a hate groups. That’s like saying all Americans are involved in the KKK or that all Christians allow snakes to bite them.

Today we are so afraid of what is different that we’re not willing to learn about it or understand what’s believed or done. People need to learn to respect each other. Everything today revolves around respect for one another, and keeping an open mind. If you’re closed minded about things, then you just shut yourself from wonderful experiences. Just because we don’t understand a religion, nationality’s traditions or whatever, doesn’t mean that they are bad or anything of the sort. Just because a couple Muslims are terrorists, doesn’t mean the whole religion is; it’s actually a religion of peace not war. Don’t judge until you have all the facts, don’t stereotype an entire religion, race or nationality. How would you like it if someone stereotyped you?

It's quite ridiculous that people think all Muslims are terrorists... the reason the extremist Muslims hate us is because they view us as terrorists. Muslims are people too. Yeah the terrorist suck butt, but not all Muslims are terrorists, nor are all Americans terrorists or evil people. People really need to think things through completely before coming to a half-cocked total b.s. generalization in the guise of an opinion on Muslims (or as you pointed out, on any race, religion, nationality, etc). Different doesn't mean evil folks. It means a chance to learn something you didn't previously know and be better for the learning of "it".

If you look at Muslim history you'll see that they have relied heavily on the sword to achieve their goals throughout time.
Also, look at the dozen or so wars that are going on around the globe right now. All but 2 of them can be contributed to Muslim aggression.

The world's hate or distain for Muslims goes a lot further back and a lot deeper than the recent war on terror. No not all Muslims are terrorists but I believe that Islam is a flawed and dangerous religion as history shows time and time again.

The history of Christianity is also rife with bloodshed. Is the Christian religion not equally as flawed and dangerous then?

Yes, but Christianity's violent ways all ended about 700 years ago aside from a small handful of whack-jobs.
I don't think there are very many Christian churches in America or anywhere else on the planet which teach hate and violence as a matter of principal or a way to achieve a greater level of holiness. Yet we have mosques even here in our own country preaching death & hate to children and teenagers. That's a big difference in my book.

I agree with both of you that yea both faiths have had bloodshed. Both faiths teach love and peace. I've known Muslims from college, one professor actually spoke about the faith. The hate or should i say fear-based hate stems from ignorance of whatever's being hated whether it be a religion, culture, or whatever. People need to look beyond stereotypes and see each other for the people they are.

Ah, but there are churches that teach hate and violence. Fred Phelps is one of those folks. Pat Robertson is another. So are all the preachers out that preaching hate towards Pagans, homosexuals and the countless other groups that are being targeted by said hate mongering preachers. One can't really judge the Islamic religion when his or her own religion's past is likewise rife with bloodshed and violence. To do so is hypocrisy. Christianity might not be as violent as it once was, but it's still not love and light all the time either. They are just as guilty of preaching hate and intolerance.

Well I can honestly say that my church does not preach hate towards these groups or other groups. We are taught that paganism and homosexuality is a sin, but by no means are we taught to hate them. Maybe I am one of the few Christians that is love and light all the time even towards those who harm me. No matter the religion there are always going to be things wrong with it. We are humans and we are not perfect and mistakes are going to be made.
