I have been rudely awakened by the fact that life is SO fragile.
It is so often that we get caught up in school, work, whatever, and don't realize that in the end, all that is going to matter is what bonds we made with people, what we learned from them, and how they affected our lives, hopefully for the better.
A friend of mine was just murdered.
over $20.
It's things like these that make one want to stop everything they're doing and make sure they show everyone around them they appreciate them and don't take them for granted. It is truly possible for us to never see them again.
It just sounds so cliche, doesn't it?
But when you see someone smiling, laughing, so full of life,
then see them in a casket just days later,
it does something to you.
Life tastes a lot different.
You can physically FEEL life.
It also brings the idea of how EASY it is to lose.
How one blow to the head, one extra dose,
and you're gone.
There's a rollercoaster going on in your head
constantly questioning
"where is my friend now?"
"is there a God? is there a heaven? is my friend there?"
Your eyes and ears are open for signs.
As my sister drove past the funeral home, of all songs that could possibly come on,
it just so happened to be
"Crossroads"
a song he new every word to, with an overall message of "we will meet again."
now that has got to mean something...

This was really good, but halfway through I was wondering "is this a blog or a poem?" The format confused me a tad. Poems and creative works of that sort should be posted on the Creative Writing side of ProgressiveU, though even if this is a poem, it's definitely fitting the requirements for the site.

Mind Control is Easier Than You Think
I am sorry to hear about your firend. Life is worth a hell of a lot more than $20 and it's really sad that the murderer didn't seem to think so.
Really sorry to hear about your friend. Yeah $20.00 is not worth someone's life. But people say that something tragic will happen to one person so , everyone can realize how precious life really is. It's just sad loved ones have to go. My condolences go out to you.

Comments are appreciated. Thanks.
Sorry to hear about your friend.
Two of my best friends were connected in a murder. My best friend's brother shot my other best friend's cousin over $4. I found this weird how they were connected.
Life really is not fair. My cousin (19) was shot by his uncle. The uncle only recieved 2 years in prision.
Losing someone is very hard. I am quite used to this awful thing we call death.
I am very sorry about your friend and I hope the best for you. Good blog though!
