All my life I grew up hearing that the youth were never involved in politics.
I look around me at my University and realize that now there seems to only be a handful not involved.
Let's list off political figures that have been on my campus: Bill Clinton, Ron Paul, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, oh yea, and the Democratic Debate.
Maybe it's just something on my campus but it feels like I can't go anywhere without hearing about politics. People debate constantly on who they believe would be the better candidate. There's so many organizations on campus dealing with politics and they have incredibly high involvement.
Finally my generation has overcome the cliche that youth don't care about politics. It's exciting and thrilling to be part of this pivotal and monumental election. Politics aren't boring anymore. While much of the media says it's mainly "Obama-mania" this isn't the only case. While I personally support Obama, others have been out fervently supporting Hillary or Ron Paul also. As long as my fellow youth are getting involved in politics, that's all that matters. We've been recognized by the media for taking it upon ourselves to change the country. We finally realize we do have a voice.
So the rest of you, get out and vote when you turn 18. Continue this tradition. Don't let the youth vote go back down; continue this trend.

...how excited I am to be of voting age and able to participate this year in the election. If there was anyone more enthusiastic about voting than me, I could only name P. Diddy for his strong campaigns for voting.
I rank "voting" at the highest of my exciting possibilities, being second only to going to a university. I can't understand why more people my age aren't as interested in an election that will begin to affect them as they get older more than ever. Still, as you said, even more people are out there campaigning for candidates, more than ever.
Wake up people! These President hopefuls will be making policy that will affect you down the road! So, go out there and do what you can to get people to vote!
In fact, I think I'll blog about my excitedness...
Unfortunately, I still think that most young people are not politically active. I think its great that you are, and you're in a community of people who are. I do think that this is changing, as young people are a raising demographic in presidential elections. However, many young people "support candidates," but do not vote themselves, as if they are only in it because it's trendy. For example, very few involved in Diddy's Vote-or-Die campaign the last election actually voted themselves...
