Catching Up, and Then Something More Relevant

The past week has been very busy; I've had much to get done, and feel that I haven't accomplished much, no matter the extent of my hard work. One thing that I have accomplished, is another trophy waiting patiently in the case to be given to me when I graduate. I was awarded with second place for prose interpretation at the Speech and Academic meet on Saturday. While I would have preferred first, I am happy to be given something other than third for once; I've been on a third streak...

Another happy occurrence from the meet was the establishment of a new relationship. The boy who received first, ahead of me, and made fast friends and look forward to competing with each other again. His name is Alex, and he's absolutely delightful.

Now that I've gone on about something that's hardly relevant to the outside world, I guess I'll just post poetry and then move on. I don't think it's that great yet; but it has potential, and no, I'm not asking for critique. Thank you.

Woman

Woman.
She feeds my words
With weeds from her garden;
But, her flowers grow
With wilted wishes from tainted wells.

Art starves and swells with dehydration,
And the unfulfilled dreams of children drown.

Ten cents,
Nickels and dimes,
Metallic moons that rule the day
Rust and rotate;
Sinking forever into darkness.

While stars and stripes stretch
And un-flatter her figure;
Fat mother.
She,
The nature of Capitalism,
Cynicism,
Commercialism,
Prays for an exorcism
And receives nothing.

The communist manifestos;

Marx turns in his grave
And the raven quoth,
"Forgiveness and salvation."

Better off with masturbation,
Pleasure
Purged
Ends the human race
And scatters the
Collective intellect.

Nevermore.
