Although 'Team America' has been on video for over a year, students in my school seem to still be obsessed with it. Why? What is so funny about it? Personally I think it represents everything that high school students and even adults do not need to be watching or supporting. It is obscene, rude, crude, and politically incorrect. Sure some jokes in it are fairly funny, but over all it is not a movie I want to ever see again, nor would I want my children to watch.
If you have never seen Team America do not. It is a complete waste of brain space. I actually think I am dumber after having watched it. It even offends me when people quote it. The theme song in the background is "America F-ya" etc . . . but it actually says the f-word in it. I know that it is clearly an adult movie, and parents should know not to let their children watch it, but these days kids go to their friends and watch it etc . . . If children in today's schools love this movie, then where is society headed? Is this the kind of filth we should expext to see in our movie theatres and on television in the near future as prime time attractions. If so, the only thing as a society we can do is condone such behavior and refuse watch it. Even if that means not fitting in with the in-crowd. Just thinking about Team America makes me feel like trash.

I liked it
Team America is a stupid movie, but funny-stupid. I like it and if people are into that kind of humor I recommend they watch it. Children shouldn't be watching this movie but I see nothing wrong with adults and older teens wanting to watch it.
But a lot of children are, and i found a lot of it degrading and vulgar, but it is your choice to watch it or not to.
Teens and kids love the movie for the puppets and funny dialogue. Higher-brow "Daily Show" and South Park viewers love it for its satire.
Team America: World Police was intended to be a satire about the way that Americans everywhere form their political opinions, as well as a jab at actors and actresses everywhere who co-opt opinions from FOX Network flacks and pundits, then go on the Late Show or Letterman and claim that it's really their own opinion. They're recycling talking-points!
Sure, the expletives weren't deleted from the Team America theme song, but that was intentional. Sure got your panties (and many others) in a pinch over a word that starts with F. Are our priorities are progressives really limited to bland, humorless opinion and stiff public speeches and media?
Team America represents an example of totally absurd, hilarious satire. Without humor, doesn't that mean we're siding with the terrorists? (j/k)
It's a great movie that cannot be taken too seriously. Just enjoy the movie for what it is, funny as ....
I'm going to have to agree with BlueVolunteer on this one. I liked it for the political satire aspect. I mean sure, some parts were totally disgusting (like the puking scene), but a lot of the movie was rich in thoughtful, yet absurd, propositions of the current state of america. As far as politically correct goes...consider that the authors made the movie grossly politically incorrect as an outlash to the ridiculous restraints that we have on expressing ourselves. Hey, just a speculation.

This is really based on opinion and your sense of humor.
To a certian extent, but it is also based on standards set by society, morals, what is right and what is wrong, what is politically correct and what is absurd, what kids should be learning. Garbage in, garbage out. Does no one else care about the decline of morality in our society?
I agree completely. Kids these days just aren't smart enough to tell the difference between what is a person and what is a puppet. I think it's a problem with our educational system. In my day, if I were to pull a head off a Barbie doll, or brutalize a GI Joe with a magnifying glass on a nice summer day, I knew it was all in fun. Sadly, those once enlightened days are now in the past. "Team America" unapologetically glorifies puppet slaughter. Someone call PETA.

Its true to a certain extent because kids are not taught the difference because paretns seem to think they can discern on their own. But they cannot, and should not have to; that is teh responsibility of the parent. Personally, I just think there are a lot of ineffective parents out there these days. They are not the role models they once were; I would know, I was removed from my home.
i've never seen it; actually never heard of it...
good, you should keep it that way, lol
The movie is a parody in the extreme sense. Most of the people around the world view each other in that particular light, and so that is how it was portrayed. I think there was a point behind it, once you look for the reasoning behind the vulgarity and such.
