Ok so i was with my friends brother the other day and he wanted weed!!! ( FYI: i dont smoke weed i tried it once when i was 12 and didn't see the point in it). Anyways, so we were driving around and he just randomly went up to some dude that he didn't know and he got weed!! First off it shouldn't be so easy to get. Secondly people who do it are stupid because it ruins your whole life. Why would you wanna spend that much money on weed when you could be spending it on bills or food or something. Now i know weed isn't the only drug out there, there's a ton more, but weed is probably the easiest drug to come acrossed. There even considering making it legal, which i doubt will ever happen! I think weeds the easiest to get because you can grow it almost any where it will blend in at, you can sell a little portion of it for a lot of money and you don't really have to put money into making it. Now i've grown up around this drug ALL my life, which is probably why i can't stand it. So anyways, i really don't see the point in it and i think the government and the law enforcement should work a little harder to decrease the growth in weed growing and selling and smoking. An i dont think anyone should be considering to make it legal. Now there is the point of doctors prescribing marjuana to patients with certain diseases. There are other medications they can give you to take the pain away, im sure they could abolish using marjuana for medcial purposes if they really wanted to. I dont think it should be used in medical ways either, weed should 100% illegal, it doesn't do anyone any good. Some people say they use it to make them feel better so they can get away from their problems, well news flash when you come down off the high your problems are still gonna be there and all your doing is running away like a little baby, grow up an learn how to deal its called life people!! Anyways my point is people should start focusing on how to get rid of the drugs in our society instead for trying to figure a way to sell it and grow it. Like i said drugs are stupid people shouldn't do it, it's pointless!!!!

No, I don't do drugs. And while I don't really consider marijuana a drug, I don't do pot, either.
I just think it's a waste of time to send our law enforcement out to crack down on potheads who are really doing no harm to anyone but themselves when the police could be stopping drunk driving and child abuse.
If you have a problem with "bums," I can assure you that the problem is not weed. For one thing, "bums" are usually alcoholics, not marijuana users. Secondly, welfare is used mostly by mothers with no baby-daddies ... not by pot-smokers.
Police should be stopping it because it's illegal? Big deal. I don't smoke it, but I hope it DOES become legal so it stops being a waste of money in our justice system. You saying it's gross is a matter of opinion. While I tend to agree that it is gross, that doesn't mean that police and law enforcement should be wasting time, money, and energy on it.
If you know people that live like "bums" because of weed, then you should probably get some new friends. Usually people are "bums" because of their personalities, and that personality tends to enjoy the use of weed [and other substances.]
Your opinions are straight out of the D.A.R.E. handbook and are completely falsified by outlandish ideas and things that simply are not true.

so you want weed to become legal, good for you, but just think if there was vote to legalize it an you voted yes and then there were a whole bunch of accidents related to it wouldn't you feel bad. Show me some stats that say that marijuana impairs your driving. i want to see number of accidents caused by someone high and I want to see deaths caused by someone who is high. Otherwise, your argument holds no bearing.

2.5 percent. That is a significant amount.
Now lets look at the stats for alcohol related accidents:
"In 2006, there were 13,470 fatalities in crashes involving an alcohol-impaired driver (BAC of .08 or higher) – 32 percent of total traffic fatalities for the year." (from http://www.alcoholalert.com/drunk-driving-statistics.html)
And guess what? Alcohol is legal.
I'm not saying it should be okay for people to drive while impaired on anything. But saying that 2.5% of accidents are caused by people who were under the influence of marijuana does nothing to validate whether or not it should be legal.
That same site also says that a great percentage of that 2.5% were caused by people under the influence of both marijuana and alcohol.
So marijuana has negative health effects just like cigarettes. So what? You don't want to make cigarettes illegal, but yet you argue that one reason marijuana should remain illegal is because it is harmful to your health.
Your arguments are inconsistent, and every single one of your links is biased in one way or another.

I'm not saying it should be okay for people to drive while impaired on anything.
I think there are places where you can be cited for driving when you are having trouble staying awake. Everything (marijuana, alcohol, fatigue, etc.) is just lumped under "driving while impaired" rather than "intoxicated" or "under the influence."

that i didn't want ciggs to be ilegal i'd be more then happy if they were. An yea it does say that they were under the influence of both weed an alcohol, but did i ever say i wanted alcohol to be legal either. The point is weed is ilegal and it is harmful and if you looked at all the links(if i recall correctly) i sent one that says that smoking one joint is equal to 20 ciggs meaning you get 20 times more carbon monoxide which could lead to carbon monoxide posioning faster then ciggs which means it can kill you faster. I could honestly careless who uses it but i hope that it never gets legalized and everyone that does it acts stupid well doing it(which most do) an get caught. It's a pointless drug and it's exactly that a drug!!

No... that wasn't the point of my comment. Smoking pot is bad for you, because the smoke is bad for your lungs. But there are other ways of ingesting the drug... my microbiology professor uses cookies to get his pot. And he doesn't get high from it anymore, after ingesting it for like 40 years.
