So I have been thinking a lot lately about childeren that have their moms or dad in the army or any military thing, for that fact. I believe that many people don't really understand what all military families go through let alone the childeren. My mom has always called my sister, makayla, and I her unsung heros. My dad has been in the army for 17 almost 18 years now. Now that I sit and really think about it he's been gone for more birthdays and holidays and special things then he's been here.
Most people think "well they still have the other parent" and that's not completely wrong, however, when one parent is gone defending our country and they army doesn't pay enough for you guys to survive on then the other parent must get a job and then who is left? We Are!!!! We are the childeren that learn what team work is. We know how to grow up when it is needed and yet long just to be able to be a child again. For us oldest ones we learn that we must become as a second mom or dad and pick up the slack so that our country is safe for other childeren to be kids, even though we are giving up our chance to be ours. We don't look forward to big or expesive things for christmas and our birthday for we know we will only be dissapointing ourselfs so we don't get our hops up. We support what are parents are doing over there and understand what's going on. They are helping people that cannot help themselves and helping little kids to learn what it really is just to be a little kid. We are the ones that everyone seems to forget about. We don't want you to feel sorry for us, just know we are here. We are the unsung heros that give up almost as much as our solider does.
