First of all we have to understnad what Global warming is. Global warming is an increase in the average temperature of the Earth's surface and oceans.The increased volumes of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasses released mainly by the burning of fossil fuels are the primary source of warming.

Who says it is too late to stop global warming? How can we not stop something we supposedly started?
Global warming is 20 years old. Introduced to the UN in 1988, it declared to the world that the earth had been warming for several years. Twenty years later we are still watching the winter Olympics, paying the kid next door to shovel the snow, enjoying a crisp sunny winter day, flying south to get warm again, driving in snow storms, enjoying the changing seasons and paying heating bills. Twenty years worth of global warming should have us all swimming in boiling water by now. The effects of twenty years of global warming should look far more dramatic than the normal unpredictable weather patterns that we see now. Perpetuating this mass insanity, is the media. The politicians (Kyoto), scientists, and religious-like environmentalists feed off this mutually beneficial power source while bewildered citizens are numbed with a now growing cynical fear. Only when our frustratingly misunderstood climate is perfect, like the inside of a shopping mall, will this cultural anomaly end.

Confusing weather with climate change is an error common to the intellectually unfit. It is true that methane and carbon dioxide occur naturally in nature. It is not the prescense of these green house gases that present a problem but the concentrations found in the atmosphere. Without enough co2 the planet would be too cold and would be covered with ice. Too much and the planet is too warm and ice recedes. In either case there are extinctions and disruptions.
The past 10,000 years which witnessed the ascendency of humans has been known as the long summer. It has been the relatively stable climate which has allowed for agriculture and civilization as we have come to know it.
We have more carbon in our atmosphere than at any time in that 10,000 year period and we are on our way to doubling the concentrations. As we increase CO2, we also increase the earth's surface temperature setting in motion any number of effects which could, and likely will, end the long summer with undefined consequences for human civilization and other species.
The question for science is what is causing the increase in carbon concentrations? The obvious answer is the burning of fossil fuels. Obvious, but still requiring proof because of the state of denial surrounding the issue. But now the evidence is in and even George W. has been forced to acknowledge that human activities are contributing to climate change.
Yet we still have a few Canadians with their heads so far uo their asses as to confuse a cold day with evidence that climate change is not real.
We even elected one Prime Minister. Yes, Canadians can be just as stupid as our American friends when it comes to political leadership.
