Since I was 18 years old I have never really been interested in politics until now. It is so funny what catches peoples attention. More and more youth are beginning to take interest in who takes office because of the ongoing scandals and manipulations. From Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky to Govenor Spitzer and his episode with the Emperors Club. Newspapers are being transformed to dirt magazines and politics all over the nation are being more heavily scrutinized than ever. Who do we have to blame? I believe that once you are given a "title" and a bank account to go with it, you are under the assumption that you have more power than most. Now, don't get me wrong you probably do, but lets face it you can't hide everything. The most powerful men in the world can be unmistakenbly stupid. They are not above the law, they are not above mankind. What would make them think that they can do what they please and get away with it is beyond me. Youth straight out of high school are witnessing these dramatic political episodes, and are drawn to the drama. Is this how we want to gain attention in the poliitcal world? I have met men and women that are more mature and more respectable than the men and women that currently hold political titles. I don't know whether I should be saddend or disgusted. Now, I should bring up the fact that while many of these senators, governors, mayors, etc, have made wonderful promises of more healthcare, more school funding, less taxes, we are seeing less and less of these promises being fulfilled; and unfortunately not many people see that. They pay attention to the scandal. Let's ask ourselves this question, will the youth vote for the scandal or for the important issues of this nation.
