Back when i was a child, video games were not in abundance so me and the children of my age would play other kind of games. Just playing on the parks or playing sports was something really common and every kid did it and enjoyed it too. Today things are a lot different. Kids now have computers where they play computer games all the time. And the majority of them now have all kinds of newly designed video games like: PlayStation I, II, III , WII and many others that we all know.
Long lines outside stores on the first day that a new game is going to be sold is such a common thing that even some people get injured on these adventures. And just for what? All this for a video game. Commonly kids careless about their studies or other important things just to dedicate all their time to playing a game. Not only these games make you devalue everything in your life but the game itself, but they are also addictive. I have known people who would normally play until 2 or 3 in the morning, losing time of rest and sleep just to satisfy this uncontrollable addiction.
This euphoria of the young population is a very good thing for the business of the video designers and sellers. But, don't we notice that kids are growing up more unhealthy than before. Many kids don't do anything else than play, sports is not a part of their schedules anymore and the percentage of obese kids keeps growing up. And what about those games that are based on violence? I'm not making those games responsible for all the bad news we hear on TV about kids killing each other at school, but I'm pretty sure that they have some effect on the children's subconscious mind.
To what extent are we allowing our kids to get involved with the newly developed technologies? Are we helping our kids grow mind and body healthy or are we contributing to them being unhealthy?

I agree with you 100%. It is scary how addictive these games can be. They also leave a deep impression on young children and I think parents should take more time supervising children with these games and limiting them as to how much time they can spend playing these games.
