Hello all! I'm not exactly sure how to introduce myself anonymously; in fact, the very phrase seems to be an oxymoronbut lets try. Like many of you I am another 20-something year old going to college and am beginning to get my first tastes of the real world like paying for school, asking the landlord for one more day, and job hunting. If I had to classify myself, I would probably say I am a nerd of all trades. I say this because most nerds will usually specialize, gaming, comic books, forum trolling, etc. Me on the other hand, I just sort of have general geek knowledge with out any real focus, though my friends inform me I have an uncanny knowledge of movies and actors. In my youth I was an avid Boy Scout, an organization I support fully and unwaveringly, and I still serve as an adult leader in my old troop from time to time. To keep myself busy here at college I serve as the vice president of the fencing team attending and participating in practices and torunaments. I think that pretty much sums me up so on to my topic and I look forward to hearing from anyone who think my blog posts are comment worthy.

With the formalities out of the way, lets get into today's post: April FoolsDay and Hillary Clinton: Joke or More? For anyone who hasn't heard about it: http://au.news.yahoo.com/080402/2/16c80.html Hillary Clinton held a press conference yesterday in order to challenge Barack Obama to a "bowl-off" to determine the democratic presidential candidate, obviously poking fun at Obama's lack of bowling skills displayed on saturday.

Now many people will simply say that it was a meaningless joke at Obama's expense and it really is. However, what most people won't think about is the calculation and planning that went into the joke. And I don't just mean Clinton practicing her poker face.

You see, cracking a joke like that was actually a brilliant, if very subtle, political move on her part. Making a lighthearted, innocent stab shows that she's only human, and has a sense of humor to boot. She also went on to comment about how bowling alleys could revolutionize society by bringing people back together and invoking images of old school America. It gives her supporters something to connect to her with. A technique Bill was, I'll admit, rather good at executing.

Secondly, any retaliation from Obama's group other than a chuckle and "alright you got me" can be interpreted as poor sportsmanship. Provided I think Obama is smart enough to realize this, but some of the people in his employ may not be. Stranger things have happened.

All in all, a very clever joke ,and a brilliant display of Machiavellian politics by Clinton. I hope Obama is brushing up on his bowling game.
