While searching for places to announce our blogging scholarship I came across this two-year-old post about whether professors should get academic credit for blogging.
The debate sounds familiar: Is blogging just for fun, or does it actually make a contribution to society? The bottom line from these professors is that blogging is a very positive thing. You just need to make sure you don't let it take up all of your time.
Speaking of blogging for academic credit, we are starting an experiment this semester with a College of San Mateo English 100 class. As part of their service-learning projects, students in the class are going to post to their own blogs on Progressive U and comment on other students' blogs. If anyone is is interested in setting up a similar project, or even if you want to set up an independent study internship, contact us.
