The driving age is 15 to get your permit and 16 to have your liscens. I think that this should be changed. Ive heard talk of rasing the driving age - tbut I think is should be lowered!
Currently, you must have your liscens six months before you can get your liscens which I do agree with. To obtain your permit you have to take drivers ed and pass a written test. For your liscens you need to pass a driving test compleate with 90 degree back ups and parallel parking.
I think that by the time a teenage is 15 they are beginning to get unruly, there is often tension at home between the parents and the child. The children often feel that they dont need to listen to thier parents. I think that the driving age should be made younger. I think one should be able to get their permit at 13, maybe there should be a test for them to take before they can even take the permit class to tell if they are responciable and mature enough. But, I htink that the younger the teenage the more likely they will be to listen to thier parents. Parents often provide valuable advise to thier childrens - espically when it comes to driving. And I feel the younger the kid the more responcive they will be to the parents. What do you think?

Personally, I believe that the driving age should be raised.
Because even if a child gets their license when they're younger and still listen to their parents, when they reach that point of rebellion, it won't matter. They'll still be just as reckless, just TO rebel.
Also, children that young have no real need to drive themselves anywhere. Too young to work, and all that. Plus add in that driving is a huge responsibility. The younger the child, the less responsibility they can handle.
Take myself as an example. I'll be turning 18 in a few months time, and honestly, I know I'm not anywhere near ready to drive. I'm not the only one, either. I feel that the age to get a license needs to be raised a few years to give teens more time to mature and learn to be responsible before they're out on the roads behind the wheel of a car.
And that's comin' at ya' from yer local redneck hippie.
I also believe the driving age should be raised. I feel that there are enough fatal accidents attributed to young drivers as it is.
Search "teenage drivers" on google and you will come up with the first following search results:
"Is your teen driver safe?"
A warning from the CDC's Injury Center on the risks that teen drivers pose to themselves and others.
Statistics of teens getting in fatal crashes due to distractions such as their friends in the car or texting on their cell phone, or a big one--intoxication behind the wheel.
I am almost 17 now and do not have my license yet because I don't have a way to pay for insurance, the gas, let alone the car. I probably won't have a car all throughout college, and in all honesty it would be easier for me to get where I need to go, but having a car that young is an exorbitant LUXURY. Not a neccesity.
When I see 15-year-olds with brand new cars I'm kicking myself because I'm thinking: what do they really need a car for? Do they have to commute to work every day? No. Their parents pay for everything and more--they spoil them. Maybe they drive to parties or clubs on the weekends and go on road trips to Cali, lying to their parents that they are studying at the library or spending the night at a friend's house. The next day their parents get the worst call in their lives...You know how the story goes. Why would you to increase the chances of that happening by ten-folds?
There is no way the driving age should be lowered. Even at 16, the brain is not developed enough to make reasonable choices in a number of situations. This is not at all a bash at teenagers... it's just the way the brain works. Even at 18, smart choices cannot always be made. However, it's much better.
So many 16-year-olds die on the road because they're simply not ready for the adult responsibility of driving.
Many countries require kids to be 18 before driving. I think that is absolutely a good idea. I would really support an increase in the legal driving age in America. I'm sure it would save quite a few lives.
The age require to drive should not be lower at all. It should be raise if there is to be any change. There are exemption when both parent of a child are disable therefore needing the son/daughter to drive below driving age but that should be it. To lower the driving age would be an act of responsibility for the adult. There are already a surprising high vehicle incident involving teen driving.
