Well, I do not know what I think of BUSH. I know he hasn't done anything too special but he has done some good in Iraq wether you want to believe it or not. However I am ready for a change in President just to see what happens. But I think people should respect Bush for these reasons..or at least come up with GOOD VALID reasons to not like him. Not just say he kills our soldiers and he is stupid. Here are reasons to respect him (not like, just respect)..
He had to deal with 9-11
THIS caused a bad economy, not him
After the attacks everyone wanted war, not just him (I use everyone loosely)
Basically, he is the first president to deal with these issues. It is not all his fault. Afterall, what did Clinton do, well he had a good economy. Did he create a good economy, I do not think so, But he did get lucky. Luck is a part of the equation. Depending on the four years the president happens to be president, he may be the best or worst president ever. Just think about it.

Of course he deserves respect. I mean think of all the good things he has done for our country. (if you can't think of any I have a blog called why hate bush that mentions some of the things he has done) Nobody looks at all of the great things that the president has done they always look at the things that weren't all that great. But then agian that's what everyone does isn't?
I agree I get tired of people bashing Bush for everything. He is in office so live with it. When the time comes don't vote for him. He is our president though so everyone should at least act like they back him up to the rest of the world.
He is the president, I think that anyone in that position deserves respect wiether you agree with them or not.

I do not agree with your reasons. Handling the September 11th attacks may have been an incredibly difficult thing to do, but he did not do it. After being told about the terrorists attacks he stayed were his was in order to continue his media-filled photo op with little children. Some people say he did not want to scare them, that is great and all but if he were to stand up and say excuse me children but I have presidential business to attend to they would have understood. His advisors handled the rest of his involvement during the September 11th attacks. He used a patriotic congress to pass a bill that suppresses our rights. But, but I would say the president does deserve respect. Why might you ask? Simply because he is the President of the United States of America. I also believe that the leader of any nation deserves respect. Out of tradition and loyalty, we should respect our president and any other nations president.

He'd just be briefed and ask for advice and finally take someones, but it'd have turned out the same way. Just would have looked better, and kept you from having an argument, or at least that one. I think the presidency is a little more than the Sept 11 incident.
I respect our president, because he symbolizes the free world. He is the idol of freedom, equality and democracy. Whether or not he did good on 9/11 or in IRAQ or AFGHANISTAN, he has achieved more good than bad. Nobody seems to look at the positive aspects of the president. The media is good at showing us all the war and destruction, but it is not good at showing the peace and stability that the united states has achieved worldwide. If the president left the children in the class on 9-11 and he went to NEW YORK, what would have happened? Would the towers miraculously rebuild themselves? would all those innocent people who died suddenly come back to life? would those terrorists have been caught? the answer is no, people use this as an argument that bush didnt do anything, well the reality is he couldnt do anything, nobody could. same thing with katrina, if bush went to new orleans what could he have done? would he have stopped the hurricane? would he have blocked the hurricane from destroying those homes? the answer again is no. george bush is a human being like you and me, and humanity is full of mistakes. people need to accept the fact that bush is not god, he cannot make everything perfect for everyone - thank you.
The president deserves respect for the tough choices he's been forced to made. Previous presidents have left a mess in the Middle East that Bush has had to clean up. Bush senior and Clinton nvr did anything with the terrorists in Afgan. and now Bush has to fix it
I have to agree with everything that you guys have said ( well besides the one girl who thought bush could of handled 9/11 differently) Too many people do place Bush at fault for things he has no control over, via economy, 9/11, Katrina. Even if he had reactred differently to the attacks and hurricanes what difference would of it made. The lives would still be lost, there would just be fewer happy children. Would we rather the President leave his place of work to look at the destuction done by a hurricane? Terrible things have happened that Bush has had to deal with and I think he has done an excellent job. I have much respect for and admire the man!
I agree with you. After all, he is our president and it is absolutely disgraceful to see the way he is treated in our media. People do not give him enough credit, and no matter what anyone says he definately deserves respect!
