What's the best thing about being a billion dollar sports player or actor or actress? Well they would probably think the billion dollar part. If these people really thought about the impact they made on people, and the impact they could have on the world they might think twice about the billion dollars.
I recently read a blog about Britney Spears, and the author said she shuddered to think of girls looking up to her. Britney and so many other Hollywood stars seem not to care that these girls look up to them, dreaming to be exactly like them one day.
So this means that these girls will end up in the hospital because they are trying to be just as skinny as that new top model. Or imitate every dance move they see on the tv. My favorite instance of this is when a ten year old girl was practically doing a strip tease in the middle of the street. She said that's what Christina did, and she wanted to be just like her. I heard a star say that they don't care that kids look up to them, they didn't ask to be a role model, they were just living their life.
What would happen if stars transferred all this energy into something positive? What if they became a role model that was beautiful, talented, and actually did things that deserved to have kids wanting to imitate? Do you think this is possible?

I don't know if it would be possible to get all of the stars to change their minds...but I think it's important that young girls realize that they shouldn't look up to people like that. I think that America wastes too much time obsessing over "stars". Have you ever considered how ridiculus it is that more people in this nation care and talk about how Britney dropped her baby, rather than talk about important national issues? It's just dumb to me. I could careless about actors and actresses, they're just people. Everyone makes them out to be godly just because of their profession. And if the nation decides to continue worshiping people they don't know, then I think it is time for a moral reform in Hollywood. Either don't let little kids see pop stars strip tease and want to be like them, or tell the stars to tone it down a bit. Either way, something has to change. I'm tired of going through my little sister's elementary school and seeing 10-yr-old girls in mini-skirts and heels. It's just disturbing.
Amor est vitae essentia.
Yeah i hate listening to which pop star did this, and who is going out or having a baby with who. Its ALL so stupid and just reminds me of high school. Is that why people like it so much? ek.
There does need to be a moral reform in Hollywood.
I agree that its not the stars jobs to be a role model. It would be great if they were, but it is their life. If the parents of the stripping 10 year old were worth a piece of crap they wouldn't let their young daughter be under the influence of Hollywood "glamour." Its not the actors' and singers' jobs to babysit the kids sitting in front of the TV. Parents need to be an actual part of their children's lives instead of letting them grow up on Britney Spears and lipo.
They weren't asked to be rolemodels, imagine if you became rich overnight, would you change your life? I am torn between both sides. Being in the public eye can be stressful for them. But I do think that they should do more positive stuff with their life and money. Perhaps donate some.
I agree, it's a tough situation to be in, but if you think about it, they put themselves in that position. They know everyone watches their every move (unfortunately). I've always thought it'd be wonderful it actors/actresses donated money to good causes. I mean, we're talking about the people that live in million dollar houses and still have money left over to spend on 5 cars, possibly an extra house, etc. etc. etc. If I had that much money I'd give it away in a heart beat.

True. I mean, you must have a lot of money when you buy your 6 year old his own house. or when you make more money in one year that we get to see in our lives
