Absolutely ridiculous. Fred Phelps is the leader of a grassroots organization and church to try to promote to people that God hates everyone. On his website, godhatesfags.com, Phelps tries to convey the message that all "filthy dykes and fags" rot and burn in hell. And poor Diane Whipple, forefront of their campaign just because she wasa lesbian who was mauled to death by two dogs. Phelps not only hates lesbians and homosexuals, but extends his messgae towards Jews, Blacks, Canadians, Swiss, Americans, Catholics, military soldiers, and every one who does not belong in his incestuous church of extremist hatred. You may have recently seen a spokeswoman of the church on Hannity and Colmes, where it was stated that "you are among the most vile people we have had seated on this show" when she claimed that all American soldiers who died in Iraq would go to hell, merely because they were involved in an organization "infested with dykes and faggots." This extremist branch of "Baptists", who, incidentally, is not accepted by any mainstream form of the denomination, has recently been targeted on news channels for picketing funerals of dead soldiers. This is an absolute travesty of morals, and I think these people should all be thrown immediately in prison. Yes yes, you might argue, these people have the right to assemble and protest, but think of the pain the family and friends of the deceased must be feeling in addition to violent picketers screaming obcenities about their dead son or daughter. One state, I have forgotten which, has banned this church from picketing anywhere near 500 feet of the funerals of soldiers or homosexuals, but I dont believe that its really far enough. I think these people are creating a violent public disturbance and should therefore not be granted the right to assemble by the town. And when they do gather to spit their venemous hatred, police should haul them off to jail. But I suppose that wouldnt do any good, since all they would have to do is call is pillar of fire down from heaven to incinerate the filty "pigs." I say let the family get locked up in their own fortefied camp they have built for themselves and preach away. They'd probably all wind up killing each other.

Wednesday, May the 10th, this "church" is picketing the funeral of Sgt. Jose Gomez. Please say a special prayer for the soul of this dead soldier.

It's scary that this extremity of hate exists. But using the church front is what keeps new souls away. Meaning, people who don't know God look at this group's religious propaganda to group all churches, all groups together.
