If I were not raised a Christian,
I certainly would not join now.
Who gave you the authority
To tell others they are going to hell?
It is not the Christian way
To judge and to scorn;
Remember Jesus said,
If you have never sinned,
Go ahead, throw the first stone.
We are so unlike our Christ,
How dare we liken ourselves to him,
If you are a Christain,
Are you living to honor Him?
To call yourself a Christian
And speak so many words of hate,
Makes it easy for me to see
Why we carry the burden of a hypocrite.
You are called to walk a narrow path,
That means rising above your wants.
We want to judge, we want to scorn
And at times not to do so is tough.
We are called to walk a narrow path
To chose peace and love and harmony,
We are called to give with hearts of joy
We are called to be an example to see.
Walk that narrow path my friend
Choose right in stead of wrong
Give everyone the best of you
Your walk should be hard and long.
Forgive everyone who hurts you
Show love and patience through.
Did the Christians forget,
It is Christ we follow?
Did the Christians forget,
We are all stained, all full of sorrow?
"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians, they are so unlike your Christ"--Ghandi

When you least expect it, life throws you a curve--take it and put it straight again.
This poem is so true in many different ways. It's crazy becase a lof of people call themselves Christians and yet like you said, they tell people they're going to hell. I'm not trying to sound hypocritical here, but a lof of what we do in our day to day lives is our own damnation and no one need be reminded, especially the person whos casting the stone is a christian.
All I can be is simply me

I agree being a Christian it's very sad, it's like we aren't even following our own doctrine.
The most important thing to remember is that we are all imperfect and that's why we need Christ so much.
I would agree on some things more than others. I don't believe a little bit of hypocrisy speared from some Christains should be thrown on everyone else. Most of the people who do these things are confused and don't even know who they want to live their lifes for, so what is to be expected? Some non-christains have noticed these things a lot. I was having a discussion with a classmate. We where talking about how so many people in our city claim to be Christains as if it's a trend. It is something like the new accessory these days. My town has over 150 churches, but obviously some of the people aren't using them. Lastly some people aren't being taught how to be a christain. They end up in a church where they are uplifted emotionally but dead spiritually.
Religion should be a personal belief, not something that has to be taught.

This poem is great. It reflects what's in the word.
I AM SO GLAD U WROTE THIS POEM B/C I WAS JUST GOING TO WRITE A SIMILAR ONE ABOUT THE WAY I FIND MYSELF JUDGING PEOPLE AND I HAVE NO RIGHT TO DO SO AND IT IS ONLY GODS! U SAIS SOMETHING SO POWERFUL IN THE SIMPLEST WAY! EVERYONE HAS SINNED AND EVERYONE WILL CONTINUE TO SIN AND THIS IS THE REASON WHY I ASK FOR FORGIVENESS FOR MYSELF AND OTHERS....I HOPE THAT THIS IS A WAKE UP CALL TO OTHER CHRISTIANS! THANKS!
BE BLESSED*
My problem with those who are not just Holier than you, but Holier than you CAN be is they these days they either sanction torture or lying about torture.
