Ok, well someone suggested that I research this topic and find out about what specifically can be done and what specifically is happening. Well, this segment is about AIDS. So far seventeen million have died of this atrocious disease. At least twenty-five million are on their way to death. Click on this link to see some dreary and very morbid pictures of some of those that are inflicted with this monstroscity. http://www.time.com/time/2001/aidsinafrica/photo_flash.html
AIDS is something that can't be ignored. It is killing people in Africa left and right. Some things that a person can do to help is become a missionary. Go an live in Africa and teach people. Teach them about AIDS and safe sex. Also, you can donate money to an organization like Aids Africa so that they may teach Africans about safe sex. Also, the money donated could go to buying condoms. The organization above specifically helps orphans with AIDS. They help the orphans to understand the disease so that they may not end up dead like their parents. This is the cold hard truth! AIDS is death in Africa! We, as Americans, need to stand up for these people and tell them, teach them, how to bring AIDS under control. This is probably the biggest problem in Africa, but there is so much wrong with Africa. It is just a bad plce to be. Along with everything that I have already discussed it is unsanitary and many people live in poverty.

This is a topic that many people devote their lives to, I spent an entire semester studying the impact and effects and actions in one country, Uganda, and still just scratched the surface. I presented at the 2006 International AIDS Conference in Toronto and met thousands upon thousands of people living with AIDS and organizations working to make a difference and still just saw the beginning of what could be done.
I encourage you to do more research and be careful of making generalizations of such an intricate and diverse continent. Africa is no monolithic mass that can be summed up in a few overarching blog entries. Saying that there is much wrong in Africa may be true, but it is true of any place. Relegating Africa to being, "just a bad plce to be. Along with everything that I have already discussed it is unsanitary and many people live in poverty." You cannot make such statements about a continent when you would like to ask people to care. Being part of the solution by learning the reality of life on the ground in Africa is important.
- Challenge yourself everyday, if you don't then it is a wasted day.

*wild applause* GO CONDOMS! GO CONDOMS!
I blame the Catholic church for this situation. So many African people are heavily influenced by Catholics and other Christians, who feed them bs about how condoms and birth control are BAD and EVIL. x.x
