As I am new to ProgressiveU, I thought that I would say what an awesome idea this Blogging for Progress scholarship is. I have always thought that teenagers and college students have always had something to say, but no one to listen to them, or even care. With this site, students with opinions can hear what other young people like them have to say about similar issues. And even better than that, we have a chance of getting paid for it! Being apart of this site will probably make me actually watch the news more often. Please leave me some comments and tell me what you think.

Not to burst your bubble, but you shouln't be in this for the money. I started out writing "for the scholarship", but then I saw that I actually have more of a life than I thought (surprise) and I try to have my posts of the highest quality, so I can't put out 3 or 4 posts a day as some of the mass-producers here. Sure the incentive of the money is good, but there is a very slim chance that you'll get it.
I think it's great you're here and having a good time by the sounds of it. Just don't let the money be all that drives you, as the chance of getting the scholarship is slim. It takes an almost inhumane amount of effort to keep up with some of our fellow bloggers on here... I stopped trying long long ago!

thanks for the advice guys. I heard about this site through the contest on Fastweb, the scholarship site. However, i think that no matter if I win any money or not (and with the amount of effort and time it would take, I probably won't) I will definitely try to have fun and make good use of this site.
And to Fallon, I really like those quotes, especially the Dr. Seuss one.
i too heard about it on fastwebs looking ofr a scholarship well turns out i rather like voicing my popinion. yeah the money would rock but even if they didnt have it I would still keep posting. - Jennee
