OK so we recently had our senior awards night and i was very excited when it came to who would be getting our classes top student for Spanish II. As they were announcing classes i was trying to figure out if I or another guy had gotten the award. Last time grades had went out he had a 97 and I had a 96.4, so our grades are ver close. In the mornings our teacher would stop men in the hall to proof his test and to make sure he had the important matieral to go on the test when I heard them say, and Spanish II student of the class is.....and it was neither of us. The girl who won the award sat in class everyday and did absolutly nothing, often complained that the class was to hard and boring and that our teacher was a stupid idiot. She would tell him this and much more to his face. He even wrote her up for cussing him out! (which is like being sent to detention or what ever you may have) I couldn't belive it when she went up there on stage, its then I looked at the guy I was expecting to get it when he said what in the heck? That should have been us! After he made the comment of if anyone with an a had gotten it we wouldn't have been so upset but she has an 80 in the class. Neither of us can figure out why she got the class award.

what does this have to do with a anything
Fairness in schools, why should i work hard when those who are just sitting around doing nothing, and cussing the teacher out are rewarded.
Yeah awards are weird. My school has some scholarships and I dont know how half the kids that win them managed to do it.
We have scholarships too, I was wondering about that too, I didn't get any but a girl that just found out she was passing last week did! We applied for the same one. I mean i was happy that maybe she will decide to go to college, but i have always prided myself on getting the class awards. These are being the best over all students, you know citzenship, grades, abcences, tardies, everything included. This girl got it when i was the one basicly doing the teachers work!!! It just gets away with me I guess.
You already have to be planning on going to college to get an award at my school.
I thought the that's the way it was here too, apparently I was way off on the whole thing. It just seems it would be unfair for her to get a scholarship in which she wasn't for sure if she would graduate or not. Then when she checked into getting the scholarship she didnt' have the classes needed to even attend! Its just stupid to me the way they do things
