I'm All For Yellow Teeth

Tagged:  •    •    •

why do we get up in the morning? why do we brush our teeth. why do we have showers. why do we go buy nice clothes. why do we go to school. what, is it to look nice? to attract the opposite sex? because you know, being with someone obviously makes everyone so much happier. all those emo kids crying over broken relationships, hearts shattered by the person they planned on spending the rest of their life with, before it had even started. so what is it? to feel good? if you think you look better do you perform better in school? do you go and speak to more people, make new friends? is that what its al about? perhaps its so you can think of more rhetorical questions to put on your myspace or something. but why do we do all these things we do, if we could die any minute. lets spend 12 years of our life in school, so we can go to college and be mildly successful, like so many people before us. hell, maybe one of us will get that break and lead a wonderful life. like all those music artists who...dropped out of school and made a mix tape, made millions. yeah of course, they put in so much effort didnt they. sang a song or two. got shot and rapped about it. hey, maybe we can grow to be like the millions of kids who deserve more, a better job, with talents that noone has discovered because they sit away from the spotlight. the geniuses in the back room. the beautiful artists lying cold in the b-grade galleries. or the unearthed prodigy who fell off a cliff at 17, who did all he could to acheive only to die. strange, its as if he knew he would, living 83 years of life in a mere 17. every day packed with new experiences, because he knew he would. die. as if to say. lets all push on in life, try our hardest for goals we may never acheive, make relationships with people we may never see again, cry over things that dont even mean shit. but hey, we wasted all our money on those clothes right? we spent all that time on that one person right? its all worth it, isnt it? why cant we just forget about all that. shed ourselves of material items and issues, the drama which makes it all seem real. lets abandon what weighs us down. lets all go live life in the fear of death, because one day, this may be all were going to have to look back on, as we try valiantly to rip away at the walls of our coffins. buried alive.

'but i have so much more to give'
no, you don't.

Unless you're counting on dying before 50, you should brush your teeth.

We brush our teeth so they don't fall out before we hit our mid-life crisis. We take showers to keep clean, and keep from getting ill or any other kind of nasty infection.

You're making me depressed. lol But seriously, everything is a part of life. The society programmed us to be so. And believe it or not...most of the things you listed are essential. Many things we are doing now is because we believe it will benefit us in one way or another. You must have a drama of some sort at least once in your life, or else things would be too dull. If I truly have your attitude, I'd probably say, "Why bother to live at all then?" I agree that we are too focused on materialistic tangible goods. But there are still a lot of beautiful things in the world. I am not sure exactly what you are trying to say. Should we drop everything we have and isolate ourselves in our own little world?

yes, there is so much beauty in the world, and that is something that i pride myself on being able to enjoy. However sometimes it just seems as if routine and all the hard work that we put in as students, boyfriends, girlfriends, all these kinds of thing, can be such a waste. You can do so much and get nowhere, and i hate seeing how people who have done little or nothing manage to be blessed with luck that others will never see. I also think that some people (a dig at myself sometimes) need to go outside and lie down in the grass, and listen to the wind rustle through the leaves, instead og being so focused on things that are excessive and unnecessarry.

I have a feeling someone called you "ugly" today...you're angst towards the basic horrors of visual appeal is depressing to say the least.
apart from health reasons, yes, we want to look good to feel good and to attract other people. it's a nature thing... survival of the fittest, you know?

no, i wasn't called ugly, and i am actually quite a vain and conceited human being, much of what i write is contradictory to myself. but the reference to the clothes and teeth, that was merely a reference towards routine, and then, of course, how despite how much we try to look nice for a CERTAIN someone, efforts can be futile at the least, thus putting things of more importance (education, general living) into perspective.
