Definition of progress: 1 a: a royal journey marked by pomp and pageant: a state procession b: a tour or circuit made by an official c: an expedition, journey, or march through a region
2: a forward or onward movement
3: gradual betterment
For what this website is trying to do I would say that the second and third definitions are absolutely true.
Progress is moving forward. In moving forward as a person you better yourself but that doesn’t happen over night.
Move forward to accept new things and try new experiences. Even if they are things that you end up not liking at least say you tried. Get informed about everything and then make your decision about people or cultures. Don’t just dismiss something because everyone else around you is doing it.
If you get informed then other people can learn more from you and things and people and views can start to change. Nothing can change for the better if no one tries to change it. If everyone just says “oh well someone else will figure it out.” So, what if that’s true? Shouldn’t you try to figure it out too?
Progress is moving forward and helping other people do that same and get informed about things because it is better to be informed and go against everything everyone else is saying that to just let it be the way it is. Speak out if you feel differently about things than someone else. Let other people know your opinion and the reasons why you feel that way about it. Who knows you could inspire them to change their minds about it too

There are some good personal thoughts on progress here. Not bad. Not bad at all.
If this is for the Think Progress contest (which I think is still running) it needs to be tagged "Think Progress" in order to be judged. Just thought I'd mention it.
