The boys at the end of the street play basketball. Topless.
The humidity is suffocating. I am clothed.
Men mow the grass. Topless.
Temperatures exceed one hundred. I am covered.
It starts to rain. The boys rip off their shirts.
It starts to rain. I take off my shoes.
As a woman I am not entitled to be topless in public. This is not equality. Just because my breasts are larger than a man’s does not mean that I am a scandalous object that cannot be viewed in public for fear of offending or damaging the minds of society. MEN HAVE NIPPLES TOO. What’s the big deal?
Breasts are an obsession of men. Why? Because breasts are secret—when breasts are covered they become more mysterious and enticing. This is true of all realms of life. When something is unavailable it becomes more appealing.
If it is sweltering outside and I can’t see two feet in front of me for the sweat in my eyes, I want to be able to strip down. If a man can be topless in public then any woman has the right as well.
You see, nudity is often confused with sexuality. If I were to stand in Central Park or on the Golden Gate Bridge completely nude, what would I be? Am I trying to make a statement about my sexuality? No. Society has led us to believe that when an individual is naked it is directly connected with their sexuality. This is wrong.
When society mixes sexuality and nudity the results are distasteful and lewd—Girls Gone Wild, pornography, provocative advertisements. Being naked does not define our sexuality. Sexuality does not define being nude. People become offended when the two (nudity and sexuality) are mixed in a public atmosphere. But what if nudity were allowed in a public sphere—minus the sexuality factor?
Being naked is just that—being exactly what you are without any restrictions. Being nude does not allow an individual to hide their flaws, to manipulate the eye. When you are nude you are the purest version of yourself. Nudity is what you look like without the facades or masks of society. Accept it and embrace it.

Nice post. YOu made some really good points in there.
Society has led us to believe that when an individual is naked it is directly connected with their sexuality. This is wrong.
Yeah...I'd be one of those people who'd assume that. I mean, it's become an ingrained thing that naked=sex/sexuality. Boobs are sexual. Personally, I wouldn't want to run around topless, but that's mostly because of a learned modesty and what society says. It'd be nice to not have to suffer so much in the heat, but then again I don't like to see girls who reveal too much. Maybe I'm just straddling the fence on this issue here. I'll have to stick with clothes.

Mind Control is Easier Than You Think
Haha, I probably wouldn't run around topless either. But I feel like I deserve the option.
People should be able to circulate with whatever clothes they want on, or no clothes.
Everything else is retarded, and if a beholder feels offended, that's a problem the beholder should work out by himself.
I believe there was a recent court case that ruled that women can walk around topless as long as it is nt done in a perversive or sexual manner. I have to double check my source, once I get it I will post it here for you guys
I think a lot of this has to do with our culture. In America we sensor nudity as much as possible. If you go to Europe, they have adds with women's breasts showing along with topless women at public pools and beaches. They've moved past associating nudity with only sex. If nudity is being portrayed as pure sex then it will not be seen as anything different.

This is true. Men in Europe find breast beautiful and attractive. Americans have built an entire culture around them. Plastic surgery and push up bras make us all feel inadequate and encourage the breast fetish.

Indecent exposure: the exposing of one's private body parts (as the genitals) either recklessly or intentionally and under circumstances likely to cause offense or affront
Note: Indecent exposure is generally classified as a misdemeanor.
This is the direct definition of Indecent exposure, it does not directly mention the exposure of breats, as breasts are not considered genitalia, read the source below:

So you may walk around topless but you may, more than likely, still recieve hostility
Its unfortunate that we live in a society that considers nudity to be sexual.
While breasts are not genitals I think society has classified them as "private body parts" and so by default it is "indecent" if we walk around topless. But I guess we could argue that because they aren't DIRECTLY mentioned that it is not "indecent." Hmm ;-)
August 23, 2008 there will be protests across the nation (National Topless Protest Day)...
Sad, isn't it, that women are still fighting to be equals.
http://www.infoplease.com/spot/womenstimeline1.html
Its a damn shame that we are still fighting for rights you are right about that. I mean think about it we did not get the right to build our own credit until 1974 when the The Equal Credit Opportunity Act was finally passed. That was only a litle more than thirty years ago. We still have a log way to go, before we an truly say that women are finally accepted as equals. You can see this in the presidential elections when they say "is America ready for a female(or black) president" Why woudn't we be. what do (white )men possess that a black man or woman does not. If we are truly a nation of equals this question wouldn't be asked. They would just be accepted as candidates, we still have a long way to go
I like Europe. I think they have got it down. Well some countries. I wouldn't walk around topless, but if it is 90 degrees outside I would enjoy just being in a bra. There's not difference between that and a swim suit but people would FREAK out. Strange country.

Men in Europe are no different than men in the US when it boils down to Boobs and everything they might represent.
I believe if girls would walk around topless there would be an immediate increase of car accidents!
Relationships would suffer serious jealousy conflicts when eyes wonder off and lock on competition when in presence of a spouse!
Old men will drop dead in the middle of the sidewalk because of heart failure when crossing specimens that might carry an energizing effect upon their brain!
Young boys will freak out when crossing an 99 year old trendy grandma!
Digital cameras will become the number one selling item!
Anyhow, personally I hope this soon becomes a reality, if some fine day they have to come and pick me up from the side walk, I can’t wish for a better way to leave this world.
Boobs are and always will remain magic, regardless if they are small, big, ugly or beautiful, they are the strongest female magnets male lips have ever know, it’s a baby thing which keeps males in boob mode forever….lol
Vote Topless, bring change and inspiration in the street, lol
Nice Boob blog...
It is a little known fact that New York is one of the only places in the world where women are legally allowed to walk around topless. Women may do so as long as it is not for "the purpose of business." This was decided the Court of Appeals way back in 1992. So, to all the women in NY - let's take off our shirts and embrace being a woman!
