John McCain

For some reason, I don't believe in this person. And I guess the subject of pork made it worse. He talks a good game and sounds real honest. But, I'm a democrat and wouldn't vote for him anyway. I see more of the same. If you've been on the hill, you're not going to change anything. Like the old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." To me all of these politicians subscribe to this view. Bridges to nowhere and all the other garbage programs out there that continue to be funded don't help.

Backing Bush is political suicide, but there are still so many people who are actually that dumb. Nothing has come along in a long time that has benifited the people and I don't see that coming along anytime soon. McCain is trying to play it safe even though I don't think he has a chance. It's nice to see a politician that may in the end actually tell the truth. But, we all know that they say what they have to to get elected.

My vote sways between Obama and Clinton, but will we see more of the same? As things heat up, I will continue to stay tuned. If any of you Bush ** want to comment, be nice and intelligent. Or, I'll release the wrath of Khan on you. Good day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not a Republican or a supporter of Bush however, ANY republican would be OUT OF THEIR MINDS to support Bush. He has taken the national government and increased it times a million. Republicans are going, "What the hell are you doing?! You're supposed to be on our side?!" I personally would like to vote for Mike Graval, haha!

Thank You!!!!!!!

Good point!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder how people can be so **as to say McCain is worse than Clinton or Obama as far as pork. When people talk that way it shows they know absolutely nothing about the politicians outside the always inaccurate hype.

Whenever I vote I visit the web site for a group called Citizens Against Government Waste, an anti-pork barreling organization. They are non-partisan and the foremost organization on monitoring pork-barreling. They have a very useful feature where you can see evaluations for members of Congress as far as their porking. They rate from 0 to 100 per cent, the higher score being better, with 100% being 'Taxpayer Superhero' and anything below about 25% being 'Hostile' toward the taxpayer. If you look at Obama, he fails miserably at 22%. Compared to John McCain's 88% and Ron Paul's 82%, putting them in the 'Taxpayer Hero' category, we have to clear alternatives to a fiscally irresponsible senator.
For example, Obama voted to reject an amendment to a bill, introduced by none less than John McCain, that would remove $6,000,000 dollars of pork for sugar cane growers in Hawaii. Why did he do that? Why do sugar makers need $6,000,000 of the taxpayers' money? There was a bill that would protect taxpayers from having the Social Security funds that were put away for them taken and used for other government projects. Obama rejected it. That money is taken from tax payers and supposed to be set aside for their retirement. It's not there to fund government projects. Why shouldn't it be protected from squandering through use in other programs? Why? Here is an example of an amendment, again introduced by John McCain, that would cut $74,500,000 from agriculture pork that is supposed to go to the small farmers as subsidies, but almost always gets grabbed up by the big ag. corps. Obama voted against it. Why? I thought it was Republicans that were always for Big Business and the Dems who claim to protect the little guy. That's not the case with Obama. Why would you want this guy having the final say on the budget plans? I don't know, but I know that he's a Porker and a Waster. Everybody is saying he's "for the people" and as a Democrat "protecting the average person" against big, special interests. I don't buy it. Oh and just so you know, Clinton is even worse.
