I just finished doing some research for a paper about Outsourcing. I have come to realize that many companies have picked up this trend. Why? Are there not enough American workers in the U.S.? You know America seizes to amaze me. We are in debt up to our necks and we still go abroad. Unemployment increases every year and yet we offer jobs to people outside of the country. Don't you think that is a little foolish? Companies such as Sprint or Citibank all hire vendors from India to do their customer service. Now, I don't know if you have experienced a phone conversation with one of these vendors, but quite frankly it's annoying. First off, they are computer-like. If you ask them a question they answer it of course, but then if you ask them a different question they answer it with the same exact answer. Then the conversation gets a little more difficult and they just transfer you to a manager in the states. It's rediculous!
Either training needs to be improved or companies just need to give up on it. I am led to believe they save plenty of money by outsourcing but come on, what good will it do for their customers if they have a hard time with the foreign vendors. Seriously, it kind of upsets me because as an effect to hiring these vendors, americans are being laid off. Are we not good enough?
