How can the US government (or the common people for that matter) think its right to kill a man for war crimes (Saddam Husein) when, if one of our leaders was captured and killed we would think it was terrible and murderous. When deciding that Saddam had to be killed, we failed to consider the opinions of he himself or his followers. And another thing to consider: IT WAS THE US GOV. THAT PUT HIM INTO POWER IN THE FIRST PLACE! We killed off the original leader because he agreed with Communist views. Then we put in Saddam thinking we could pay him to what we want. The second he made a decision outside of our comfort zone, we kill him too!
The problem with the death penalty is that humans find comfort in seeing a dead body. Its disgusting. The thing is life imprisonment is MUCH worse than death (especially if you believe that you are headed to heaven). Why would we give prisoners the comforts of death when they deserve to spend their life in jail reflecting on the evils they have commited. This is a far worse punishment in my opinion.
Along with the death penalty, how can we justify a war if our country is SUPPOSED to believe that murder is wrong. If we are allowed to kill in war, who is to say we can't kill in normal communities? I believe that all killing is wrong, wether it be in a civilian area or in a war zone. The problem is that humans just love to kill too much. Does anyone else find this as disgusting as I do?

I agree with what you say about Saddam about how the U.S. put him in power and later decide to get rid of him because his view were different. Hey, but that isn't the first or nor the last that that happen. Throughout history, our government have had eliminated people that has difference point of view whether it was our own people or not.
When it come to war, people become incredibly dumb. Just because someone is branded as the enemy but has never done anything to anyone, it becomes justified to kill them because they are the enemy. Just because our leader has a problem with some other leader does not give us or anyone the right to wage war and kill people.
Its nice that somebody agrees with me. For most people its kill kill kill and damn the consequences! Im not saying that what Saddam did was right but we have no right to interfere. By killing him we left the whole country in confusion!
Didn't Kuwait put Saddam to death, not the US?

Yes but what they don't tell us is that we put pressure on their judicial system to give him the death penalty.
Actually it was the new, democratically elected government of Iraq that put Saddam to death.
But the Kuwatis did want their crack at him.
The guy was a butcher who threw his own people through plastic shredders. If anybody in history deserved the death penalty then he did. I'm glad he is worm food.
If you don't kill people like that they have a habit of returning to power. A good example is Daniel Ortega of the Sandanistas in Nicaragua.
It like Keaton21 say. The U.S. may not had kill him directly but the U.S. was a major component in Saddam death indirectly. All those thing about U.S. government caring about life is bullshit. The U.S. government has before World War 1 and still to this day been indirectly link with the death of millions of people. A key sponsor of Germany force was indirectly link to the U.S. themselves. Many of the thing the U.S. has done is alway indirect, this keep the American people ignorance so they don't know the truth. If all the thing the U.S. government has done was easily link directly, then we would have a mass protect already.

I am severely against the death penalty!!!!! I'm not usre what it solves, and how it can heal people that have been victimized at any level. i was against the hanging of Saddam Husien (spell chack please) because I didn't understand what it resolved. He terrorized the American people and we let him die within a couple of seconds. So, now is the sufferage of the American people pardon? If the execution was solving something, then why are we still at war? What are we in war for anyway? did we just kill the man for fun? Human life is precious, and i see no valid reason to take it away from someone. What the government fails to realize is the permanency of death, it can never be undone. There must be utmost certainty when intentionally killing someone, and our corrupt government is not known for its utmost certainty. I agree that LIFE in prison is MUCH worse than death simply because it must be endured and it leaves no room for growth. Death is the easy way out. It is quick, and as your body lays lifeless you are somewhat pardoned for your mistakes. You wake up in your deathbed everyday until you, someone else, or natural causes decide to make your deathbed tried and true. All that time in prison leaves ample time for people to reflect on their wrongdoings because they face it everyday when they wake up on the wrong side of the jail cell.
Killing is a very disgusting thing to do. I don't care the matter, the reason, or the cause. As I mentioned, no one has the right to take a human life. Who you want someone to take yours?
