social security

so i am taking economics this semester at my high school and i just get more and more depressed each day about how our government continues to waste money and go farther into debt. one thing that really scared me is the fact that they are prodicting by the time todays teens reach the age to collect social security there will be no such thing. Does this scare anyone else cause i know it scares me. the fact that the govenrnment is basically not going to be able to help any of us out and we are going to have to fend for ourselves. I know that i dont want to be working forever but i dont know how i will be able to aford all of that stuff on my own. Also there isnt really going to be any medicaid or medicare or if there is its not going to even come close to as good as it is right now. This is why i believe that the government should really think twice about how they spend there money. and i know that saying that isnt going to do anything because they can do whatever they want with the money they have . but doesnt thins scare anyone else, tell me what you think im really interested to know if any of you have heard this same thing keep me posted and ill do the same
