Cut and Paste Syndrome

If an article is instrinsic to your idea then link to it or quote it.  Please do not just repost an article, generally without citing its origins, and then add one blindingly obvious or pointless thought at the end.  What is the point of this.  We can all find news on our own or read a story in its original context if you give us a link.

THis is plagarism(sp) if you don't cite the source for one.  It also doesn't really contribute much to discussion or PROGRESS if you don't elaborate and give us your thoughts on whatever it is.  The usual one declarative positive or negative sentence doesn't add anyting to the discourse or knowledge or ANYTHING!

This is an abuse of the blogging environment.  We don't need a bunch of reposted news stories here.  Aren't we looking for discussion and opinion?  Or at least right your own news story that brings something new to the table.  Summarize, do something.  I too often click on what seems like an interesting topic and get what is obviously an uncited news article without any kind of explanation or thought attached.  I come here to read your opinions and you wast all of our time by reposting news articles from mainstream news we all have easy access to?

This is lame and it really bothers me.  Link the article and go from there.  Summarize and quote where appropriate.  Don't copy.

a paper does not flow correctly. Most of the time these papers don't look scholarly at all and when students just skim through facts and write them down without consideration it causes them to contradict themselves. Another thing that is irritating is when a paper has hardly any of the writer's own content but rather everything is jammed together with unreliable sources.
