me

One thing I was always told as a child is that you will never get something for nothing. These words of wisdom were told to me by my grandmother, and I continue to carry them with me as a young lady. I may not be my class valedictorian but I always give all of myself, and I will continue practicing this as I go through my journey in life onto college.
My parents made it clear to me at an early age that the only person I can truly depend on is myself. When I was 15 I started my first job, and since then I have been working to support myself in all my financial wants and needs. I was able to save up enough money to purchase my first car when I was 16. This past May I also managed to save up enough money to buy my senior ring, the symbol of 12 years of a catholic education that my parents so graciously provided for me. The feeling of being able to buy my own car, and senior ring without any financial help from my parents was liberating. It gave me the confidence to know that I can accomplish anything I put my mind to.
My little brother and sister are another major part of my life, because I know that they look up to me. The responsibility of being a good role model and the best big sister I can be, is what motivates me to live a life that I am proud to say is mine. I hope that this essay gave a better insight into me as a person.
