How many college students think they are unable to vote because they are not a permanent or previous citizen of the state they moved away to to attend school? How many students think they have to travel all the way back to their hometown to vote, so they just don't bother? As a college student myself, I can say that at first, I thought the very same things because no one had told me anything different. After finally learning that there were more choices through research, not through any advertisement or anything like that, I became aware that it was quite possible that there are many other students out there who were like me, and had no clue what any of their voting options are. Modern education leads today's youth to make logical, more informed decisions not just in everyday life, but on issues as important as who will be running our country as well. What is the purpose in educating our young people and giving them the means of knowledge to make such important decisions, then not letting them know that "HEY if you have moved away to college, you can still represent your home state/town by voting! And its not inconvenient!" Absentee voting awareness should be spread to increase the amount of young voters. As a youth, we are the voice of America...why not let that be represented in the presidential election?!

Actually, if you are a full-time student, you can choose to either absentee vote in your home town, or you can vote in the polling place local to your school. I personally vote in my home town because I like controlling New Jersey.
You should also know that some college towns intentionally (or maybe not intentionally) have polling places that are inconvenient for students without cars. Various voter's rights groups (including Project Vote) recommend that students demonstrate (i.e. protest) for polling places on campus, as is your civil right.
