Safety in our new world

Generations are growing up so fast.  One day I was shopping at Limited Too buying cute little clothes(that were appropriate), and now it seems that the trends from the young adults have filtered down into tween clothing stores.  Now they get noticed, but not by their friends but by strange men.  This ain't our mom and dads time period.  Walking through the woods to get home from school is usually not the best option now.  Going to school can end with a bang (literally).  What happened to the helpful neighbor?  Now sometimes neighbors will shoot you, and some neighbors will harass you for a piece of your property, because  they cannot get a proper view of the strom water retention pond.  I hate watching the local news, because the first story usually has to do with a shooting some were in Jacksonville.  What happened to the semi-safety our parents once enjoyed?  What has happened to the appropriate tween clothing?  What has happened to the world all around us?  Violence seems to befriend all.  My question is, were is the peace?
