Next year for college I'm going to have to pay $3,000. It doesn't seem that much when you look at but when you know the other facts, it is a lot. I cannot afford this. Here's the reasons why:
- My father does not have a job and hasn't for the longest time.
- I am not the only one in college. My father and my sister are also in college and my brother is coming up on it in about 3 years
- My father is almost 100 % disabled so there's a reason why people won't hire him and people think that he gets a lot of money for that. He doesn't.
- My college will not give me or my sister any scholarships.
I have searched high and low for scholarships and grants. I may have to move out of the dorm and commute everyday to school. I also may have to pull out about $3,000 loans every semester which ends up being $6,000 a year and $24,000 at the end of my college career. sigh* I knew that my family could not afford my education but they still forced me too. I am glad that I am in college but we cannot afford it. It is so hard to look for scholarships.

I know what you're going thru and believe me it's all worth it. Don't let the obstacles along the way stop you from getting your education... just think about it this way..... what you're going thru right now will make the end result that much sweeter.... don't give up.... keep looking....
I'm in the same situation. After next year (which my parent will pay) I will have toi obtain the funds myself. My advice: work as much as you can, look eveywhere for scholarships, and try to be very good in what you are doing. This way, maybe you will get remarked and, in the end, helped to obtain the funds. Good luck!
I don't like loans, if you do get some, make it government loans (I don't think they charge for letting you borrow) I say, get a job and save up, or look for scholarships, good luck
I'm also in the same situation except I don't have a job, yet and my mother can't help me pay for my tuition because she needs money to pay bills, etc.
