As a future college student I am trying to list the positives and negatives of college. I realize that many are listed as both because they can play either role. If you have any additional ones please feel free to let me know.
Some of the positives include meet many new people, imbibe tons more knowledge,get away from your parents for a little and pick up good habits from other students.
It also can prepare yourself for a better future, helps get yourself on a schedule, get involved in your spare time, working hard can pay for your education, the tougher grading makes you better, and you get prepared to work with different types of people. It can be the best time of your life or you can meet your best friend for life or you can meet your soul mate. You can also find a way to make a difference in the community.
And of course there are the not so good negatives. People have different opinions which can cause chaos, you find out knowledge that makes you think different about certain issues, your away from home too much, and bad habits can be picked up. The partying can distract you from school work and like anywhere else there are cliques that can suck you in. Procrastination can become a BAD habit, you must be committed to spending the time needed and the grading is harder which lowers your grades.
