The Year Of Death

Tagged:  •    •

So my mom and I were talking last night about how much as gone on just while I have been in High School. And then we gave each year it's own name, but one that I've been thinking about a lot so far today was the Year Of Death. That would be my freshman year.
That year started off so normal for a 14 year old girl going into highschool. I was so excited to meet new people, new teachers, new boys, new classes&yea new boys.
But then in Novemember changed EVERYTHING. I went to a party that my youth group was having at a couples house. Well I guess throughout the night some of the older guys were railroad hopping. If you don't know what it is, it's when you drive really fast and ramp over railroad tracks. Well Blake was driving the car that was doing it all night. Well the adults found out what was going on so Blake and Lance hurry up and left for one more time. Little did Blake know that would be his last time doing ANYTHING. Blake&Lance in all the time I knew them never ever wore their seatbelts. Well as they were going down the road heading for the tracks at the last min. Lance put on his seatbelt, Blake never did. And yep you guessed it. Blake died, he was throwen out of the car.
That's what started everyone dieing.
Soon after that a lady named Chris, who was like my 2nd mom, passed away.
As did two of my greatgrandpas.
I remembering feeling as if no matter where I turned thier was death.

So that Was the Year of Death.............
&I couldn't run from it.
I remember hateing hearing the words "honey, I need to talk to you" come out of my mom's mouth.
&I know she was sick of saying them.

I'm really sorry to hear about all these deaths surrounding you. I find this blog interesting, because just last November one of my friend's mother's passed away whom I was very close with. I was at Starbucks when I had the news [great place to be right? all out in the open, people everywhere]. After I found this out, I told my best friend about it and then we got started talking about how, to her, everyone dies in the month of November. I can't remember exactly who all she said had passed away in November, but she had naed roughly around 5 to 6 people. At this time, she was in another state because her aunt had passed away in a house fire two days before I received the news of my friend's mother. So, I guess what I am trying to say is I understand why you would name a year "The Year of Death." I guess now, November can be named "The Month of Death." Once again, I'm truly sorry to hear about your losses.

Deaths seem to happen fairly close together. In a year and a half, my great-grandma died, as did my grandma, classmate, two of my neighbors, great-uncle, great-aunt, and grandfather. It's tough, and I'm sorry you lost so many people who were close to you.
