Race for the White House

The Presidential race is really starting to heat up, and as young adults we have a duty to vote and decide the future of our country. I know not everyone on this site is 18 and able to vote, I am currently only 17 but will be 18 by November, but those who can vote should vote. There are people all over the world that are denied many basic civil liberties that we take for granted everyday, voting being one of them.

I've started talking to my friends about voting, I even know some people who have or are going to political rallies. This is a special time in our lives and we should not waste it. Voting not only lets us voice our opinions, but also if we don't vote you can't complain for the next four years.

I have not decided who I will vote for yet but have a general idea. I've thought about Obama but don't really know why. I don't want Huckabee because of his last name, but that is not a good reason to count someone out. I need to do some research about the candidates and find out what they stand for.

I am not here to tell you who to vote for, in fact most of you wouldn't listen to me because you have your own ideas. I do however want you to get out and vote. If you aren't old enough, talk to your parents about who they might vote for, and why they chose that person.

Thanks for reading.

Overstatement, sadly, but no income taxes and you'd live in a place called Lichtenstein.

How is it an overstatement?

Well I'm pretty sure they have some taxes, just not a lot and no income as far as I know.

I'm ok with taxes, but not the income tax.
