Is college funding really that easy to come by?

Society says there is not excuse to skip out on college.  They say the funding is everywhere.  I graduated at the top of my class and with honors.  When I applied for scholarships and financial aid, I didn't get awarded much.  There may be lots of scholarships for the underprivleaged or the extremely smart, but what about the middle-class, average person.  It is so hard to get scholarships when there are hundereds or even thousands of people competing for the same ones.  There has to be a better way to get funding for a decent education.

It depends on what degree Middle Class you are. Are a dependent? Independent? If you are dependent, how much does your family make a year?

Believe me, when you've got NO ONE paying for you, living on your own, and working to earn your life's savings by yourself, your voice is louder than the one with SOME money.

You're lucky you got some money. However, scholarships are the best way to go about it, because many of them don't really look at your financial background.

Have you tried Fastweb.com?

Yes I have. I graduated class of 04. I got married and I have a 3-month old son. I have a full time job and I only get paid $7.50 an hour. My husband and I are now separated and I am trying to go back to school. What advice do you have for me now?

Well, now that you're separated, are you independent or dependent?
THey pay more money to independents.

It depends on how much debt you want to take on.

I think they are not easy to come by and that you usually have to take out loans.
