My Absentee Ballot

Yesterday I put my absentee ballot in the mail. It was a satisfying feeling. It is only my sencond time voting so I think it is really exciting. The first election I voted in was the primaries to this race and now here I am voting in the election.

Here at Bloomsburg they push you to register to vote in Colombia County, I think they think you'll vote more if you can just walk somewhere on campus the day of the election rather than have to fill out a form and then wait for your ballot then fill out your ballot and follow all the rules and then pay the 30 odd cents to put it in the mail. Which is probably true for most college students.

Me, I get a certain satisfaction in voting for my home district. I know the people who are running better than I know what is going on up here. I have not been following the politics up here the entire way through my high school carreer. The only education people get about the elections if it is not from their home district is the political ads and the campaign smearing thy are filled with. I would rather have people vote being educated then vote where they are and not know what they are doing. But maybe that is just me.

"What's the point of having a democracy if everyone is going to vote wrong?" I don't know who said that, it certainly wasn't me, but it struck me.

Informed voters are wise voters, and if you more informed about your hometown elections, good job for you going the extra mile to make certain that they received your input! And believe me, I know that .30 is like 30,000 grand in college...but our thoughts and our votes are worth much more than even that! Well done; you should be proud!
