Oh How They Cry-- Oh How They Fight

Oh Republicans! How we have come so far since the election of 2004 with blowing comments out of porportion. To those who do not watch or read the news (I rarely do because most of my free-time is spent playing the new Tiger Woods video game-- but when I do its not fuin to watch), John  Kerry made a "punch-line" about uneducated students going to Iraq, and without education our children will also end up in Iraq. John Kerry is right in many ways. Students who don't have a formal education and need to pay for college or plain-and-simply need the money, usually join the armed forces. Its a ploy that the military is well aware of. They hang a carrot (and by carrot I mean $50,000 sign-on bonus) over the kids' heads and if they don't bite, they throw in another $10,000 for "special reasoning". However, Senator Kerry is also very wrong. Kids (and when I say kids, I literally mean kids 18-20) sign up for the military not because they are dumb-- well, thats subjective--, but because they don't come from high-end families. Its a huge joke when people of the privileged class talk about how progresive the war has come and how good our soldiers are when their kids (for the most part--- VERY large most part) are snuggled in their Mercedes S500 2007 model cars. These kids don't need to worry about  being forced into making the decision of joining the military to make ends meet or live poor. No, instead they are plagued with the question that has haunted all of mankind: Home in the Hamptons or Hawaii? And for some reason, I don't think the kids from My Super Sweet Sixteen will be dressing in camouflage anytime soon-- unless VErsace comes out with an Army Fatigue line.
