I recently got (and quit) a job. But I got that job after 4 months of looking for one. Halfway through my job search things got a little more difficult when I couldn't even apply at malls anymore because now malls want people 18 and over. even though I have expierence and a high school diploma, I still can't work at a mall because of my age. Actually, most jobs require you to be 18. Besides fast food resturants and camps, you have to be 18. So where does that leave everyone else? Broke. So why not just change the legal working age to 18. Might as well considering all the jobs that won't hire me.
Now I'm in a rut wondering if I should even waste my time and ink applying at any other place or if I should just wait it out til I turn 18, which is in 2 months, when I know if I apply at 20 places I'll at least get 6 interviews. What to do, What to do?
I look at it thise way. The only people who would be enthusiastic about working in a mall and might eve do the dirty jobs just to get paid more, are people under 18. But malls want people 18 and over because they have more "expierence", but wouldnt people with the expierence want to get a job that uses their knowledge and allows them to get more expierence, so they wouldn't get a job at the mall when they could be getting a hands on expierence in what they want to study?

If people can't work before they're 18, how will they have any experience once they reach 18? They have that age limit mainly because of liability issues, but I think there needs to be more jobs available to teens under 18, because they will learn lessons, and have their own money, meaning they will have to rely on their parents less, which is a win-win situation.

I had the same problem, because I'm the youngest in my class. You'll find a job...I did. I have two. Just use your imagination and try to find a job that will give you experience.
I've been trying. Since I want to be a teacher I tried applying to sumer camps and things like that, but they hired all the people they needed before I called.
With summer jobs, it's important to start early, especially things like summer camp, because they fill up fast. It is smart to choose a job that relates to your future career.
